Itinerary
- Day 1
Lund
You'll arrive individually in Lund, one of Sweden's oldest cities with around a thousand years of history. The 12th-century cathedral dominates the city center and really captures what makes this place special. You can also check out the 17th-century university, which is world-famous and helped shape Lund's identity over the centuries. Spend your time walking around to get a feel for the city's character and maybe grab lunch at one of the local spots.

- Day 2
Lund to Blekinge
You're heading south toward the coast today, making your way to Ystad with its old town and sandy beaches. Along the route, you'll stop at Ales Stenar near Kåseberga, which locals call the Swedish Stonehenge and has Viking ship settlement history. From there it's on to Simrishamn, a nice idyllic town worth exploring for a bit. You'll drive through Stenshuvud National Park and pass apple orchards before moving through the lake and forest belt toward Blekinge's southern archipelago, finishing up the day in Karlshamn.

- Day 3
Blekinge to Kalmar/Oskarshamn
Today follows the coast toward Kalmar, where you can see Scandinavia's largest Renaissance castle. There are optional stops at Timmernabben sweet factory and Gabriell's Ceramics if those interest you. Later you'll head out to Öland island, which gets plenty of sunshine and has beautiful beaches, interesting nature, and romantic windmills scattered around. From there the route continues east along the Swedish coast to Oskarshamn, a charming small town that serves as the gateway to Gotland island.

Oskarshamn to Stockholm Area
You're traveling inland today to Vimmerby, the hometown of author Astrid Lindgren, known for its typical red wooden houses that appear in her stories. You'll visit Sevedstorp and Katthult, the actual filming locations used for 'We Children from Bullerbü' and 'Michel from Lönneberg' movies. After that you'll continue into Sörmland, the countryside surrounding Stockholm, where untouched nature, lakes, castles and estates with beautiful gardens create the setting for those Inga Lindström films people recognize.

- Day 5
Stockholm
Stockholm spreads across 14 islands between the Baltic Sea and Lake Mälaren, and you'll spend time exploring this Swedish capital. You can check out Gamla Stan, the old town with narrow streets and history, then see the royal palace Drottningholm and the Town Hall called Stadshuset. The Vasa Museum holds the 1628 warship, which is worth seeing. Shopping happens along Nybrokai and in the city center, and you can take hop-on hop-off bus tours or guided boat tours through the archipelago if you want those experiences.

Stockholm to Linköping
You're traveling through the picturesque lake landscape around Lake Mälaren heading toward Linköping, a university town. The cathedral church and old town define the city's appeal and character. Around Stora Torget you'll find shops, restaurants and cafés all within walking distance, creating a charming atmosphere that's easy to explore on foot.

Linköping to Malmö
Today moves through southern Sweden's lake district, passing through Motala, Gränna and Jönköping before reaching Helsingborg. Motala is known as the capital of the Göta Canal, a 190 km waterway with 58 locks. You'll drive along the panoramic road next to Lake Vätten toward Gränna, which has traditional Swedish candy cane bakeries, then continue to Jönköping. After that you're heading south to Helsingborg on the coast, where the 700-year-old watchtower Kärnan stands. From there the striking Öresund Bridge carries you toward Malmö, and you can explore Lilla Torget with its cobblestone square, cafés, half-timbered houses and local handicraft shops.
