Itinerary
- Day 1
Bangkok to Phitsanulok
Your driver picks you up from your Bangkok hotel early in the morning, and then you'll head north toward Ayutthaya. The drive takes a few hours, so you'll have time to settle in before arriving at Wat Mongkol Borpith and Wat Phra Srisanpetch, where you can walk through these ancient temples and see the intricate details up close. On the way to Phitsanulok, you'll stop by the Monkey Temple in Lopburi for a quick look at the mischievous residents. Lunch happens in Phitsanulok, and you'll spend the night there, giving you time to relax after the day's travel.

- Day 2
Phitsanulok to Lampang
This morning starts with a visit to Sukhothai's historic park where multiple temples are scattered across the grounds. Wat Sri Chum is a main focus, and you'll spend time checking out its architecture and history. After that, you head to Ban Na Thon Chan, a sustainable farming community where things get hands-on. You'll ride an e-tan tractor through local villages and see traditional crafts being made. From there, it's on to Lampang, where forested hills and mountain views surround the town, giving you a real sense of being in Thailand's natural landscape.

Lampang to Chiang Rai
Driving north toward Chiang Rai, you'll stop at Kwan Phayao Lake to take in the scenery before continuing on. Wat Rong Khun, the famous white temple, is next, and the intricate details of its design are worth spending time with. Later you'll reach Mae Sai, Thailand's northernmost town right near Myanmar, where there's a local market full of Burmese handicrafts to browse through. From there, the Golden Triangle is your final stop for the day, where the borders of Laos, Myanmar, and Thailand all meet, creating a significant geographic and cultural landmark.

- Day 4
Chiang Rai to Fang
You'll travel to Fang and head into Doi Pha Hom National Park, home to Thailand's second highest mountain. The Tea Village is a key stop, where local Lahu people show you how they prepare tea using traditional methods. This isn't just observation though, as you'll help cook lunch with your hosts, making it a real participatory experience. Later in the afternoon, you'll soak in natural hot springs to relax, and then settle into a family-run hotel owned and operated by Lahu tribe members, so you're staying within the community itself.

Fang to Chiang Mai
Mae Sa elephant camp is your destination, where trained mahouts will teach you about these large animals and what goes into caring for them properly. By afternoon you'll be in Chiang Mai with the rest of the day and evening completely open for independent exploration of the city. You can wander through temples, check out the night bazaar, or grab local food wherever appeals to you. If you want something more organized, there's an optional Khantoke farewell dinner available, which features traditional northern Thai cuisine and dance performances.

Your last morning includes breakfast at the hotel before your driver transfers you to Chiang Mai airport. Your return or onward flight departs before noon, so the transfer happens early enough to get you through check-in and security comfortably. This marks the end of your northern Thailand tour.
