What insurance requirement is there for this tour? My medicare advantage plan covers me for any health related issues. My credit card covers for the travel related issues. My Smart Cremation covers after-death handling of the body anywhere in the USA and the world. Would that suffice the insurance requirement?

With all G Adventures tours, it is mandatory for all of our travellers to have Emergency Medical Travel Insurance that will cover the dates of the tour. This emergency evacuation benefit, and includes repatriation to your home country. The medical expenses, evacuation and repatriation benefits must, when combined together, cover for at least 200,000.00 USD per traveller. We highly recommend upgrading to an all-inclusive policy that includes cancellation and interruption to protect your investment in the event of your travels not going to plan. The insurance can be combined from different companies/different coverages that you have, as long as it meets our requirements.

Since most of food will not be included, what budget should I have for food that is not included? 5. 1. We require all of our travelers to have insurance. A minimum coverage amount of 200,000 USD for Medical, Emergency Evacuation and Repatriation. 2. The group will hike Emei Shan this hike takes roughly 6-10 hours. 3. The other days might involve general walking around for a few hours but nothing as intensive as the hike around the mountain. 4. We advise for meals not included to allow 445-580USD 5. Yes food will always be available and the tour leader will always be able to assist with setting up dinners. 6. For hotels we would say we are staying at 3-3.5 star accommodations

We don't charge single supplements. We'll partner you up with a same-sex roommate to ensure you pay the same as everyone else. Sometimes it's just more convenient and comfortable to have your own room, which is why we offer single travellers a "My Own Room" option. My Own Room for Highlights of China starting from $719.00 depending on the departure you choose.

I'm interested in Highlights of China, but would also like to do the 3/4 day cruise on the Yangtze River and see the 3 Gorges Dam. I'd also like to add on the trip to see the canal district from Shanghai. Is this possible to do please?

We dont have any extension cruises that we can offer you. For Shanghai, the only thing we could do would be add extra nights onto the end of your trip, and you could organise the canal district trip locally.

  2. I Do no eat beef and due to religious restrictions cannot eat from common hotpot. Is there an alternative available?

  Yes, We require all of our travelers to have insurance. A minimum coverage amount of 200,000 USD for Medical, Emergency Evacuation and Repatriation.
  
  We ask all travellers for any dietary requirements. A no beef diet will be fine to accommodate.
  There are 2 lunches, 1 dinner included and we can advise the local office to check that you will not eat from a shared pot for these included meals.
  
  For all other meals, these will be at restaurants so you can order anything you wish.
  
  Unfortunately the cycling is an included activity and there is no alternative available. You can of course opt out and ask the guide for suggestions for something else but there would be no reimbursement for the missed activity.

  You will need a visa to enter China. You may also need an official Letter Of Invitation (LOI) before you can apply for your Chinese visa. If you require a Letter of Invitation (LOI) to apply for a Chinese visa, once booked we will send you a link to apply for this. There is an included flight from Yangshuo to Shanghai.

Payment information
- For any tour departing before June 21st, 2026 a full payment is necessary. For tours departing after June 21st, 2026, a minimum payment of 20% is required to confirm your booking with G Adventures. The final payment will be automatically charged to your credit card on the designated due date. The final payment of the remaining balance is required at least 45 days prior to the departure date of your tour. TourRadar never charges you a booking fee and will charge you in the stated currency.
