- Gino· May 15th, 2025Smashing tour to see the historic features of Scotland. Excellent opportunity to explore without the pressure of timetables and too many people. Just a small group of 12 and Ed was the best guide. Great knowledge of history and took us to amazing places. Isle of Skye and Isle of Mull the highlights. Well priced.Show more

Asked on February 26th, 2024Can you confirm if the visit to Skellig Michael includes going ashore or only looking at it from further away?
- Back-Roads TouringOperator•Written February 2024
No, it is not possible to visit Skellig Michael on this tour. You will view this from the mainland at the Skellig centre. This is due to the boat ride being quite rocky and uncomfortable and the steps on the island itself are quite strenuous.

Traveler•Written February 2024Can you confirm if the Blarney Castle and Blarney Stone are on the itinerary?
- Back-Roads TouringOperator•Written February 2024
This tour does not visit the Blarney Castle sadly. We have another tour, the Emerald Isle, which does specifically visit Blarney and allows the opportunity to kiss the Blarney Stone.

Asked on January 14th, 2024Would this tour be suitable for an elderly (late 80s) person, a willing but slow walker. Would some sights eg Cliffs of Moher, involve a lot of walking from the drop off point?
- Back-Roads TouringOperator•Written January 2024
Our passengers typically range between 60 to mid 80 years of age. This is being considered our tours run at a slow relaxed pace. The car park is located very close to the cliffs and you can walk around at your own lesuire and pace. I'm more than happy to reach out to our operations team to confirm how much walking is involved on the day trip to the cliffs if you would lik me to?

Asked on June 24th, 2023Do you take senior solo travelers? Looking into Oct 2024. Can I arrange Dublin and arrive a day before tour starts and stay a day later in Dublin?
- Back-Roads TouringOperator•Written June 2023
We do take senior solo travellers, however, there is a single supplement. You can definitely arrange both pre and post accommodation at the same hotel as the tour starts and finishes.
