Are there any small group tours of Wales in July or August I could join?

I have had a look The Wonders of Wales departures for you in July & August and below are the available dates we have for a solo traveller. 24July - 1 Solo room left. 14AUG - 2 solo rooms left. 28AUG - 3 solo rooms left. Please let me know if any of these suit and we can book you on one of the tours.

Does the tour go to Portmeirion?

The visit to Portmeirion on this tour has been removed from the itinerary for future seasons.

I would like to talk to someone about this tour. What would be the airfare?

We unfortunately don't offer any airfares sorry so if you were needing help with this we would recommend visiting a local travel agent.

We are already booked to go to Cornwall earlier in July but have some spare time before flying out of Heathrow and have found your tour of Wales interesting. Because we fly home from Heathrow late in the evening on 1 August we need to find out from you what time the Tour finishes in Cardiff. We think there could be a chance that we can still make it for a flight that day but need to check with you first before booking the Tour. Also, is there any discount for booking a second Tour?

The Wonders of Wales tour will finish in Cardiff at roughly 2pm on the 1st of August. We have a multi tour discount which would be applicable which would take $165 NZD off per person from the second tour booked.

Does that mean that I am not eligible for the Wales 7 day tour?

All our Back-Roads tours are designed principally for adults, age 18+. If you do not have any current health issues that require additional care, special facilities or pose a threat, it would be fine to book and travel with us!

Is there a single supplement charge for solo travellers?

We are able to offer single rooms on our trips, however this is due to availability. Single supplement charges do apply, these are dependent on the trip itself and the date you would like to travel on. For example, the 28th of June departure is $5,559.00 AUD for the single price where the twin share/double per person is $4,449.00 AUD.

Is there still room for 4 adults on the trip? Approximately what time does this trip end back in Cardiff on May 10, 2024? When would a deposit be required and how much? What is the cost per person in Canadian and US dollars?

Unfortunately, this date only has 2 single rooms and 1 twin room available. Two of you will need to be in a twin room (2 people 2 beds) and the other two will be in single rooms. All of our tours require a $200 per person deposit 7 days after holding a booking and full payment is due 60 days prior to departure.

This was one of the best tours I've been on. I am a solo traveller and it is easy to feel left out with groups of couples but Emilie made sure I was part of the group when I wanted to be sociable, but was also happy for me to go off alone when I needed 'me time'. The small group was great (only 10) as was the mini-bus that allowed us to go into areas where a big bus could never go. Emilie was also flexible so there were unplanned stops for photos, and new places to see that weren't on the itinerary. All in all, this was a fabulous tour and I will be booking another Backroads tour again in the future.Show more

  We are still in the planning stage. However, in the meantime we are now wondering where the Cornwall tour finishes in London as we will need to book a night accommodation that night. We are on the one from 15 to 22 July
