Ho Chi Minh City

- Day 2
Ho Chi Minh City
Start by heading to the Cu Chi Tunnels, an underground system built by guerrillas during the Vietnam War. You'll see war weapons on display and learn about how people survived in these conditions. Later in the afternoon, check out Saigon's main sites including Notre Dame Cathedral, the Old Saigon Post Office, and Reunification Palace. After that, go to Cholon (Chinatown) to walk through Binh Tay Market and finish the day at the Jade Pagoda.

Mekong Delta - Da Nang - Hoi An
Transfer to My Tho in the Mekong Delta and visit Vinh Trang Pagoda, which has nice gardens and a white Buddha statue. Then take a boat ride to see stilt houses, fruit plantations, and fishing villages. After lunch, head to An Khanh village known for fruit orchards and coconut sweets, with the option to cycle or walk around the small flat island. Later you'll return to Saigon for your evening flight to Da Nang, then transfer to Hoi An for check-in.

Hoi An
Travel to My Son Holy Land in the mountains to walk through 4th-century Cham temple ruins in a quiet mountain setting. You'll learn about the history and stories of the Cham people during your visit. In the afternoon, see the preserved 16th-century ancient port town of Hoi An, where you'll explore the Japanese Bridge, a Chinese Temple, and Vietnamese merchants' houses. Take a boat trip on the Han River to Thanh Ha Pottery Village to watch local artisans working. By evening, experience the town's atmosphere with its colorful lanterns and flower lanterns floating on the river.

This morning is free for you to relax and do whatever you like. In the afternoon, fly to Hanoi and your guide will pick you up from the airport, then take you to your hotel for check-in.

Hanoi
Start at Tran Quoc Pagoda on the shores of West Lake where you'll learn about Buddhist symbolism. Visit Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum and the stilt house where he lived from 1958 to 1969. See the One Pillar Pagoda set in a square lake, then the Temple of Literature, Vietnam's first college. In the afternoon, choose between the History Museum or Ethnology Museum. After that, view Hoan Kiem Lake with Ngoc Son Temple, then take a cyclo tour through the Old Quarter (36 streets), a busy area with thousands of small shops and businesses. An optional Water Puppet Show is available in the evening.

Hanoi to Halong Bay
After breakfast, drive about 3.5 hours to Halong Bay, one of the Wonders of the Orient. Board your luxury cruise around noon at Tuan Chau Island. You'll explore the bay's features including caves, pristine beaches, floating villages, and striking rock formations. Enjoy onboard spa and massage services, and an optional chef's cooking demonstration to learn traditional Vietnamese cooking. Lunch and dinner are served in the elegant dining room with wine and beverage choices. You'll stay overnight on the cruise.

Start the morning with Tai Chi exercises on the sun deck and continue cruising the bay. Have a breakfast buffet, then visit the limestone grotto. You'll disembark in Halong City around noon. In the afternoon, transfer to the airport for your departure home.
