Bogota
Your guide and driver pick you up from the airport and help you settle into your hotel. Once you're checked in, the rest of the day is yours to explore at your own pace. The 93rd Street Park sits just an 11-minute walk away if you want to head out and find dinner or grab a drink, with plenty of restaurants, cafes, and bars in that area.

- Day 2
Bogota
Start by taking the cable car up Mount Monserrate, which sits over 3,000 meters up and gives you sweeping views of the entire city below. After coming back down, walk through the historic La Candelaria neighborhood and check out Plaza de Bolivar, where you'll see the Palace of Justice and National Capitol. Stop by the Museo de Botero to see art from Colombian artist Fernando Botero, then head to the Museo del Oro to see their collection of gold artifacts.

Bogota to Villa de Leyva
You'll drive for 1.5 hours to the Salt Cathedral in Zipaquirá, a Roman cathedral built inside a salt mine 200 meters below ground. After exploring this underground site, it's another 3-hour drive to Villa de Leyva, a colonial town with quiet streets and local charm.

Villa de Leyva
After breakfast, visit El Infiernito, a pre-Columbian ceremonial site with standing stones and earthen mounds. Next, check out Vineyard Aim Karim to see how wine gets made in a tropical climate. Then walk through Monasterio Del Santo Eccehomo, a 1620 convent with a courtyard decorated with fossils on the floors and walls. You'll also visit Casa Terracota, a unique clay house, and end your day walking around Plaza Mayor, one of the Americas' largest town squares with colonial buildings surrounding it.

Villa de Leyva to Medellin
After breakfast, your guide and driver take you toward the airport. On the way, you'll stop at Laguna de Guatavita, a crater lake where the El Dorado legend started. Indigenous Musica people considered this sacred and threw gold offerings into it during rituals. A short hike takes you to the lake's edge. Later you'll fly to Medellin, where your new guide and driver transfer you to your hotel.

Guatape
Drive 1.5 hours to Guatape, a charming town beside a large reservoir known for its brightly colored houses. Climb El Peñol, a 200-meter rock formation with stairs running along its face, and you'll reach the top with great views of the surrounding landscape. After climbing back down, wander through the town and take in its colorful architecture.

Medellin to Cartagena
You'll fly to Cartagena and your local guide and driver pick you up to take you to your hotel. In the afternoon, join a guided walk through the Walled City near the Caribbean coast. During this tour, you'll also visit Castillo de San Felipe de Barajas, a 16th-century fortress built to protect the city from invaders and pirates.

- Day 9
Islas del Rosario
Your guide takes you to the wharf where you board a boat for a 45-minute trip to Islas del Rosario, an archipelago and national park set up to protect coral reefs along Colombia's Caribbean coast. Once you arrive, walk along the beach, then either scuba dive or snorkel to see the marine life. You'll return to Cartagena as the sun goes down.
