Itinerary
- Day 1
Tashkent
You'll arrive in Tashkent and your driver will take you to the hotel. After you get settled, spend time walking through the Khast-Imam Complex to see the historic mosques and madrasahs there. The Chorsu Bazaar is worth a couple hours of browsing if you like markets and local energy. From there, check out the State Museum of Applied Art, then take a ride on the themed Tashkent subway to Independence Square. In the afternoon, stroll through Amir Timur Park and wrap up your day at the Earthquake Memorial.

- Day 2
Tashkent to Bukhara
You'll take a 4-hour train to Bukhara. Once you arrive, start exploring the old city's core at Lyabi Hauz Ensemble and see the 9th-century Magoki-Attori Mosque. The four blue domes of Chor-Minor Madrasah are striking, and the Trade Domes Market gives you a feel for local commerce. Stop by both Ulugh Beg and Abdulaziz Khan Madrassahs, then make your way to the Kalyan Minaret and Kalyan Mosque. After that, head to Miri-Arab Madrasah and the Ark Fortress for views across the city. Before evening, walk through Bolo Hauz Mosque and finish at either the Samanid Mausoleum or Chashma Ayub Mausoleum water museum depending on your energy level.

Bukhara to Samarkand
Start your day at the Summer Palace (Sitorai Mohi Hosa), which blends European and Central Asian architectural styles in an interesting way. From there, head to the Memorial Complex of Bahouddin Naqshband, which is sacred to the Sufi Order. Next, visit the Chor-Bakr Necropolis to see the graves of four Islamic saints dating to the 16th century. Later in the day you'll make your way to the train station for a 2-hour high-speed train ride to Samarkand, then transfer to your hotel.

Samarkand
Registan Square is the centerpiece here, with its three ancient Islamic schools displaying Timurid architecture. After exploring that, wander through the Siyob Bazaar and head to the Bibi Khanym Mosque, which took 5 years to build and mixes Persian, Central Asian, and Arabian styles. The Ulugbek Observatory is next on your list, historically one of the largest in Central Asia. Later, spend time at the Shah-i-Zinda Necropolis where Timurid princesses are buried. Finish your day at the Gur-Emir Mausoleum, where Timur and members of the royal family are entombed.

- Day 5
Samarkand to Tashkent
The Afrasiab Museum holds over 22,000 artifacts from ancient Sogdia, the former Silk Road capital, so budget time to look around. Visit the Tomb of Saint Daniel and try the healing spring water if you'd like. In the afternoon, head to Koni Ghil Village to see the traditional papermaking process in action, including the waterwheels and a teahouse. Then you'll catch a 2-hour high-speed train back to Tashkent and transfer to your hotel by evening.
