    The Thai Intro 9 Day finishes on the beautiful island of Koh Phangan in the south of Thailand. If you're staying on longer in Thailand then don't worry, your group leader will help you organise all of your onward travel including any of our awesome Add-on Trips. If you're going onto the Phi Phi Islands, Koh Tao, Chiang Mai or any other destination in Thailand or SE Asia, we will organise your transport for you if not already pre-booked. If you're just doing the Thai Intro 9 day trip and then going home and need to get back to Bangkok, here are the main options for getting from Koh Phangan back to Bangkok: Koh Phangan > Koh Samui > Bangkok. The quickest way back to Bangkok is by taking a short 45 min ferry ride from Koh Phangan to the neighbouring island of Koh Samui and then a 1 hour flight back to Bangkok. This is the most expensive option at around $200 / £100 for the flight and ferry. Total travel time is approximately 4 hours. The Koh Samui > Bangkok flight can be booked with bangkokair.com and should be booked no earlier than 10am on day 9 of the trip. Make sure you leave enough time for the connecting Bangkok international flight. We will book the ferry from Koh Phangan > Koh Samui for you but you may want to go ahead and book the flight yourself to ensure the best price. Koh Phangan > Surat Thani > Bangkok. The next quickest option is to get the longer 3.5 hour ferry from Koh Phangan to Surat Thani and fly back to Bangkok from there. Many airlines including Air Asia, Nok Air, Thai Airways, Bangkok Airways and Thai Smile operate this flight. Total travel time is approximately 7 hours and cost is approx. $80 / £40 for flight and ferry. This flight should be booked no earlier than 1pm on day 9. We will book the ferry from Koh Phangan > Surat Thani for you but you may want to go ahead and book the flight yourself to ensure the best price. Both Koh Samui and Surat Thani airports are international so you could fly from either airport to other international destinations other than Bangkok as well.

    If I do the tour starting on 23 March will there be a full moon party that the group will go to? Is it easy to get to?

    The 9 day tour starts on 23rd March and ends on the 31st of March, and so we will not be on Koh Phangan for the full moon party. But, don't worry, there will still be plenty of opportunities to party on the beach :)

    The 25th March Thai Intro 9 day tour will end on the morning of the 2nd April in Koh Phangan. There is due to be a full moon party on the 2nd April, so if you chose to stay an extra night on Koh Phangan after the tour ends then you can celebrate the full moon party, however please note that the group will continue on to Phi Phi this day. The hotels are usually very busy with travellers celebrating the full moon party, so there will be like-minded travellers to party with. During the full moon party dates, the accommodations on the island can get booked up quickly, so we'd recommend checking with your group leader for accommodation options on the 2nd April as soon as you arrive in Thailand. Alternatively, you're welcome to book your own accommodation independently before the tour starts for the 2nd. Your group leader will be on hand to help you arrange local transport and onward travel too!

    I can book my own accommodation but would like to know where I should book after the tour finishes and how do i get there? Does the ferry leave from the same place to Bangkok?

    The full moon party is at Haadrin Beach in Koh Phangan, it is a 20 minute taxi ride from the INTRO accommodation called Sarana Bungalows, but there will be several taxis going throughout the evening. But if you want to be closer to the action you could book a hotel in Haadrin and stay right in the center and then it will be walking distance.

    Songthaew taxis are the way to get around Koh Phangan, and your leader can book these for you if you need to get to another accommodation or to the pier to make your way back to Bangkok!

    Our 9 Day finishes with check-out from the hotel on the beautiful island of Koh Phangan in the south of Thailand. After the tour ends, if you need to get straight back to the airport then your Group Leader can help you organise all aspects of your journey and you'll just pay for the transport locally.

    18 would work, is there a contact for the tour guide, or when we book the tour, then we can plan everything out. Figuring out the flights and how it would work if we plan on flying from NYC-Thailand-Taiwan-nyc. Would they be able to help with the flight to Thailand and also also to Taiwan to make sure it aligns with the tour time?

Sometimes it can end up in your junk or spam folder, so be sure to check there just in case it's hiding! If you'd like us to double check any flight times you find you can also message us here on TourRadar after booking! Whilst we cannot book or find the flights for you be can make sure it has you on time for your tour!

    All of the accommodations are twin-share and you'll be sharing a room with one other person of the same gender throughout. We try our best to room you with someone of a similar age too. A lot of Group Members make their their new travel bestie this way!

    Yes, an airport pick is included and even if you were to arrive a day or 2 before the trip begins, as long as you were staying at the starting hotel, we would still be able to get you picked up from the airport.

    A private room for the Thai Intro 9 Day tour would be an additional 250 EUR and wouldn't be available on the overnight train and depending on the numbers of the group, a private room may not be available at Sarana Bungalows, Koh Phangan.

    Regarding your travel at the end of the tour, you will just need to book your own flight home. Your Group Leader will help you organise your travel back to the airport from Koh Phangan, where the tour ends. They'll make sure everything is booked and that you're totally comfortable with all elements of your onwards journey.

    There are two options to continue your journey: 1. Take a ferry from Koh Pha Ngan to Koh Samui and then a quick flight back to Bangkok. This is the fastest and most convenient way. 2. Alternatively, you can take a ferry ride from Koh Pha Ngan to the mainland, followed by a bus trip back to Bangkok, taking approximately 10-13 hours.

  We are planning a trip to Thaisland on February in 2026. This tour seems ideal. My wife did something like this 22 years ago. The tour suggest and age of 18 to 39. We are 2 coupless and range in age from 66 to 77, We are .all in good shape.Could we take this tour.

    We do have a maximum age limit of 55 for these tours, as most of our travellers tend to be in their 20s and 30s. Because of this, we don't think this particular trip would be the best fit for you.

  On the overnight train, are there beds to sleep on or is it sitting upright in our seats?

    The beds on the overnight train fold down into flat beds, and the train staff will get them set up for you, including providing the pillow and sheets.

    The majority of people on our tours are aged 18 to 40 with many in their 20s/30s, but we regularly have people in their 40's and 50's travel with us and have an incredible time! We generally find that our Premium tours (such as the Thai Experience) are well suited to those in their 50's. But as long as you have an appetite for adventure and are happy bonding with people of all backgrounds, you'll fit in perfectly!

    You'll stay in a variety of amazing accommodation whilst on tour. Whether it's a beachside resort, a hotel in the centre of the city, a treehouse in the jungle or a floating bungalow on a beautiful lake! Depending on the tour, the accommodation will either be twin, double or triple share, with occasional multi-share rooms. We do not have an option to upgrade the accommodation on this tour.

    The group size varies from trip to trip, but for Thai Intro we usually have around 18 to 22 people in each group. Day 7 is an epic tour around Koh Phangan, starting with a secret beach, then Koh Raham for snorkeling, lunch at a waterfall, and Koh Ma beach. Our tours are for over 18's only. The majority of people are aged 18 to 39, but we regularly have people in their 40's travel with us.

    How do I get back to Phuket from Koh Phangan? Will I have to make arrangements on my own back home?

    To get to Phuket from Koh Phangan you will need to take a ferry and a bus OR fly from Koh Samui. If you opt to fly then you will need to arrange this in advance. If you opt for the ferry and bus combo then your Group Leader can support you with booking this locally.

    On Koh Phangan, activities include beach hopping, Muay Thai/Yoga, massages, and beach parties. We do not run trips over Christmas & New Year so our Group Leaders and operators can have a break with their families.

    I turn 50 this year. Will my age be an issue for this tour? Is a single room optional? How long is the ferry from Ko Pha Ngan to Krabi?

    No age issue! We regularly have people in their 50's join us. We can look into a private room. Note that rooms are shared by same gender, and you'll be limited time in rooms due to activities. The journey from Koh Phangan to Krabi is a 2-2.5 hour ferry to mainland, then a 3-3.5 hour bus journey.
