      Eric

      TravelerWritten November 2024

This tour is in my bucket list for awhile. Am doing my assignment before I fully commit myself. You mentioned that we can see the border between Pakistan & China from Passu, but how far though? Am interested to see what I saw on pictures..the Khunjerab Pass. What are the legal documents for Americans to visit Pakistan aside from passport? If you're residing in Pakistan, what's the best month to tour Karakoram Highway, weather wise. Is there a maximum age to join this particular tour?

    • Explore!OperatorWritten November 2024

We do not visit the Khunjerab pass on this tour. This is something you would need to arrange independently. The minimum age for this tour is 16 but there is no maximum age. Pakistan: Visas are required for citizens of the UK, Australia, New Zealand, US and Canada and can be obtained in the form of an e-visa. Other nationalities should consult their local embassy or consular office. The e-visa can then be applied for through the official Pakistan government visa website only. You'll need to upload a scan of your passport as well as a passport photo. Passports must have at least 6 months validity from the date of arrival in Pakistan. All visa related issues including information for other nationalities should be confirmed with the relevant Embassy prior to departure.

    Asked on March 13th, 2024

Does this tour involved arduous trekking and very long walking, up & down the mountains? Day 9: "this walk is steep in places with some exposed sections", how steep? Any other option? I am mainly interested about the Karakoram Highway.

    • Explore!OperatorWritten March 2024

This is a discovery trip rather than a walking trip, so the walk should be suitable for most fitness levels. Full day guided sightseeing in Hunza Valley by foot and private 4WD vehicle. Early morning drive to Hoper Nagar, many stops on the way. Walk to Hoper Glacier viewpoint (10 mins). Transfer to Passu and visit Suspension bridge, then we drive to Borith lake. Lunch at Borith Lake. Walk from Borith to Passu Glacier View point (easy, 4kms, 1:30 hrs) (easy ascent for 10 minutes and flatter section). Then drive back to Karimabad, On the way visit Hussaini Suspension bridge and Gulmit village.

Yes, absolutely ! You can do the trip and stay at hotel when it's long and arduous hike. The scenery is beautiful and you can enjoy it from the hotel and guest houses too. But most of the time we do easy walks.
