Is the price for a solo traveller?

If you tell me which date you are interested to visit Italy, I can give you the price for a solo traveler.

We will be in Milan after a visit with friends and need a place to stay FEBRUARY 8 + 9. We hope you can help arrange train tickets to the cities below AND you can arrange hotels/BB's or other. The time spent in the cities will be on our own -- self guided... is there any way you can assist us? STARTING FROM MILAN Feb. 9, IF POSSIBLE, we'd like to visit: Florence Venice Verona. We want to travel by train to the cities and spend a few days each and finally END IN ROME – or other city with a major airport -- flying out FEBRUARY 15 or 16 – we don't have tickets back. We have spent time in Rome before so don't need to spend more than a day/overnight there.

Unfortunately, we are not able to assist with this type of fully customized, city-to-city independent itinerary that includes arranging individual hotels, B&Bs, and multiple train tickets for a self-guided trip. Our services are focused on organizing structured tours with fixed itineraries, and we do not have the ability to manage this level of custom planning for individual cities.

Will arrive in Rome the day before. Can you confirm Hotel St. Martin will be the tour's hotel in Rome, or advise the cost if you book the extra night?

Do you offer Mama Mia tour option that runs in reverse (Venice > Rome)?

Unfortunately it is only one direction as it is a group tour. Usually most of our tours start in Rome.

Could you clarify if there is a guide available in Spanish for the tour?

We have different buses dedicated to English and Spanish speaking customers. The guide will be Spanish-speaking. The inclusions mention English guide to avoid confusion for USA customers, but a dedicated Spanish guide will be available in the bus.

Can I join the optional tours? What is the additional cost?

The optional Colosseum tour costs 85 USD per person and can be arranged during your trip.

How does the meal plan work for the included meals?

Most dinners are at hotels, except one in Sorrento requiring formal attire. Meals not covered will be specified in your trip document.

What happens if I arrive a day early? Is airport transport covered?

If you arrive early, we can amend your airport transfer and help arrange your hotel accommodations.

Is there transportation between cities? How does it work?

You'll be traveling in a deluxe bus led by a tour guide, with a group size ranging from 18 to 30 people depending on the season.

Are tips included for the tour director and driver?

No, tipping is not included, and it's customary to tip separately for meals as well.

I’m giving this tour two stars: one for the guides and one for the monuments. What the brochure promises is not what you get. TourRadar subcontracted to Eskapas, who used Carrani, who used I Love Rome. It felt disorganized, and we were just slotted into whatever tours were running that day instead of having a cohesive group. Day 2: Rome- The hotel was fine but not central. We had to take the Metro on our own to a meeting point near the Colosseum. We only saw the Palatine Hill from a terrace. We were not taken to the actual ruins. Then we were on our own again to get to the Vatican by Metro, and back to the hotel afterward, with transfers. We’re seasoned travelers, but when you book a tour, you expect pickup and drop-off. Christina, our guide, was excellent. Day 3: Rome – Naples – Pompeii – Sorrento (B–L–D)- We got a text saying pickup was at 7:30 a.m., so with hotel breakfast starting at 7:00 we thought we were fine. The driver called our room at 6:30 for pickup and said 7:30 was the departure from a separate meeting point. We left without breakfast and later had to buy our own. Somewhere in Rome, we were merged with two other groups into one large group. Andrea, our guide, was fantastic. You see the Bay of Naples and Naples itself only from a distance on the way to Sorrento. No lunch in Ercolano, we had a rushed lunch in Sorrento instead. We were supposed to visit Pompeii the next day, but it’s closed on Sundays, so they moved it up. Pompeii is incredible. All optional tours are cash only, no cards accepted. Hotel Vesuvius was great, except for the tiny 2' x 2' showers. Day 4: Sorrento – Rome- Morning trip to Capri: spectacular. The brochure listed an optional Amalfi Coast tour for the afternoon, but it doesn’t exist. We booked a private car and driver to Positano and Arienzo, which was worth it. Day 5: Rome – Assisi – Siena – Florence (B–D)- Assisi was wonderful. Siena, not much to see. Day 6: Florence- Florence is gorgeous. Our hotel, however, faced the trolley lines and was next to a hospital, so we heard trams and sirens day and night. Optional Pisa in the afternoon was, again, cash only. Day 7: Florence – Bologna – Padua – Venice (B)- Bologna was fine. Padua was listed, but we never went. Our Venice hotel was on another island, far from Piazza San Marco, so you need the vaporetto. The optional evening in Venice was cash only. Day 8: Venice- We had to pay cash for an evening tour and did NOT get to go inside the Cathedral or the Doges Palace. If you want to go to Murano, again, pay cash. Bottom line: Amazing sights and some excellent guides, but the logistics were chaotic, the brochure was misleading, and “optional” add-ons were cash-only surprises.Show more

Meeting points are only required for pre-booked optional excursions, as stated in the trip document. Merging with other groups: Our programme descriptions note that excursions may occasionally be combined with other groups, we understand this can affect the feel of the experience. We have passed this feedback on. Padua: We have reviewed the itinerary and Padua does not appear as a listed destination. We would be happy to look into this further if you can share where you saw it referenced. Florence hotel: The hotel is located in the city centre. Venice hotel: The hotel is in Mestre, as advertised. Staying on the island of Venice would significantly increase costs for all travellers. We are glad the sights and several of the guides left a positive impression, and we appreciate you taking the time to share your experience. We will use your feedback to continue improving. Overall, I really enjoyed the tour which was full of wonderful moments in truly amazing places. Italy does not disappoint! What I would like to happen differently next time - at the Vatican I would have liked the ticket to include Saint Peter’s Basilica, in Sorrento we had pick up problems with drivers not turning up exacerbated by the hotel being way out of the city centre and in Florence our hotel was a challenge, from the decor to the incredibly hard beds. But the hotel in Rome was excellent, as was the new Venice hotel in Tronchetto and when Stefano was leading our group we were well cared for in a comfortable coach very well driven. At times people were going different places, and she had to take care of so many details. She was quite knowledgeable of all places visited. I hope she has paid what she is worth. The tour was good because of all the places visited. For me it was stressful at times, and I felt rushed at some of our stops. For example, the day we traveled from Rome to Venice was difficult because we had too little time at too many stops. At Assisi and Siena we had just enough time to walk up the hill to see the church and then it was time to get back to the bus. I think it would have been better to spend more time at these towns and bypass Bologna. The other criticism I have is that the final written itinerary was inconsistent with previous versions. Apparently I was sent an email that meet up time changed by 1/2 hour, instead of 3 now changed to 230pm. And to confirm I received email. Well I didn’t check my emails so I was not able to confirm. On my way to the collisium I got call from tour guide asking where I was. She insisted tour begins at 230. I told I am looking at itinerary she she NO señora. I arrived at collisium at 239, to no avail, I called tour guide she did not pick up. I think an important change in itinerary should have been a phone call or at least a follow up to email. Payment information
- For any tour departing before September 15th, 2026 a full payment is necessary. For tours departing after September 15th, 2026, a minimum payment of 20% is required to confirm your booking with Eskapas. The final payment will be automatically charged to your credit card on the designated due date. The final payment of the remaining balance is required at least 70 days prior to the departure date of your tour. TourRadar never charges you a booking fee and will charge you in the stated currency.
- Some departure dates and prices may vary and Eskapas will contact you with any discrepancies before your booking is confirmed.
- The following cards are accepted for "Eskapas" tours: Visa, Maestro, Mastercard, American Express or PayPal. TourRadar does NOT charge you an extra fee for using any of these payment methods.
Cancellation Policy
- Your money is safe with TourRadar, as we only pay the tour operator after your tour has departed.
- TourRadar is an authorized Agent of Eskapas. Please familiarize yourself with the Eskapas payment, cancellation and refund conditions.
