Itinerary
- Day 1
Porto
You'll arrive in Porto with airport pickup to your hotel. If time allows this afternoon or evening, take a walk through the city center and down to the riverside. Grab fresh fish for dinner at one of the waterfront restaurants, then head across to Vila Nova de Gaia to check out the port wine cellars before heading back to rest.

- Day 2
Porto to Pinhão
After spending the morning exploring Porto's neighborhoods and attractions, you'll head to the train station for the journey into the Douro Valley. The train winds through UNESCO World Heritage vineyards and terraced hillsides for several hours before arriving in Pinhão. Once there, you'll settle into an old winery and have a welcome glass of port wine to kick things off.

Landmarks Douro Valley Pinhão - Day 3
Pinhão to Alijó
Start early with a walk along the Pinhão River, moving through vineyards and olive groves that cover the valley slopes. You'll pass through Provosende, one of Portugal's seven wine-growing villages, and stop at Quinta do Portal and other local wineries along the way to taste wines and see how they're made.

- Day 4
Alijó to Vilarinho São Romão
This hike takes you through the region where Ferdinand Magellan was born, with ancient Neolithic settlements and Iron Age hill forts visible along the trails. You'll walk around Sabrosa with wide views out across the Douro Valley vineyards. Bring your camera because the views here are really good for photos.

Vilarinho São Romão to Pinhão
You'll walk along the Pinhão River with the vast Douro landscape all around. The route passes a quiet river beach where you can stop and enjoy the peaceful surroundings. From there, the path continues to Pinhão where you'll finish this stage of your journey.

Landmarks Pinhão River - Day 6
Pinhão to Peso da Régua
Hike to a viewpoint that was featured on BBC, overlooking the famous terraced vineyards and the Pinhão River stretching out below. After taking in the views, you'll descend into Peso da Régua. Once you arrive, there's time to visit nearby vineyards and try wines while looking out at those distinctive terraced hillsides.

Landmarks Peso da Régua - Day 7
Peso da Régua to Porto
Depart Porto either by arranging your own train ticket or booking the guided option that handles transfers and adds a scenic Douro River cruise. If you choose the cruise, you'll have aperitifs and lunch served onboard as the boat moves downriver, ending at Estiva pier near Porto's main sights.
