Arrival in Palermo
You'll land in Palermo and get settled at your hotel. Dinner is on your own this evening, so take time to explore the neighborhood or rest up for the days ahead.

- Day 2
Palermo
After breakfast, head to Monreale to see the Norman-Arab Cathedral, which features Byzantine mosaics and a decorated cloister. Then it's back to Palermo where you'll walk through the Cathedral, Martorana Church, and Cappella Palatina with its golden mosaics. You'll also check out Teatro Massimo and the fountain in Pretoria Square before returning to the hotel for dinner.

- Day 3
Catania
Start the day in Cefalu, a seaside village with medieval character and Mediterranean views, including the Norman Cathedral. There's free time to wander around or visit the Mandralisca Museum if you're interested. After lunch, travel to Catania to explore its baroque center built from lava stone. You'll see Duomo Square, the Cathedral of Sant'Agata, the lava stone elephant, University Square, and Via dei Crociferi. The day ends with traditional Sicilian granita and brioche at a historic bar.

- Day 4
Mount Etna - Taormina
Begin at Catania's fish market (pescheria), then head to Mount Etna, Europe's highest active volcano. You'll reach Rifugio Sapienza and walk around the Crateri Silvestri cones with extraordinary views, plus taste artisan honey and local products. After that, continue to Taormina for lunch and explore its streets and the Greco-Roman Theatre with views of Etna and the coast. You'll have shopping time before heading back to Catania.

- Day 6
Syracuse - Noto - Ragusa
Travel to Syracuse to see the Archaeological Park of Neapolis, which includes the Greek Theatre, Roman Amphitheatre, Latomies of Paradise, and the Ear of Dionysius. Then head to Ortigia, Syracuse's historic center, where you'll see Piazza Duomo, the Cathedral built on an ancient Greek temple, and Arethusa's Fountain. After lunch on your own, travel to Noto to see its baroque architecture and UNESCO city center, then continue to Ragusa for dinner and overnight.

- Day 7
Modica - Piazza Armerina - Agrigento
Start in Ragusa Ibla, the ancient heart known for baroque palaces and the 'Il Commissario Montalbano' TV series. Walk through streets lined with over fifty churches. Continue to Modica and stop at Sabadi chocolate shop to try the award-winning chocolate. After lunch, head to Piazza Armerina to see Villa Romana del Casale, a UNESCO site with the world's largest preserved Roman mosaics. You'll end the day in Agrigento for overnight.

- Day 8
Valley of the Temples - Marsala - Salt Pans - Palermo
Explore the Valley of the Temples and see the Temple of Juno, Temple of Concord (one of the best-preserved Greek temples), and Temple of Hercules. Travel to Marsala to walk the old town and visit the Florio Cellars to see 800-year-old vats used for Marsala wine, with light lunch and wine included. Later, drive along the scenic Salt Road to the Stagnone Islands and salt pans where salt is collected using traditional methods. You'll return to Palermo for overnight.

- Day 9
Erice - Palermo
Visit Segesta to see an ancient Elymian colony dominated by a solitary Doric temple. You'll explore both the temple and the theatre from the III century B.C., located 400 meters above sea level. In the afternoon, head to Erice, an ancient village perched at 751 meters on Mt S. Giuliano. Walk through narrow medieval streets and Spanish-style courtyards while taking in views of Trapani bay, salt pans, and the Aegadian islands. You'll see Erice city center, the main cathedral, and Venere Castle before returning to Palermo.
