We don't want to go to the Mount Etna on Day 4 (2 have knee problems). Is it possible to be picked up only to go to Taormina? No stop to beaches (Cala dei Turchi, etc.) planned?

the bus cannot change itinerary but you are free to not get down from the bus for the visit of Mount Etna and enjoy only the visit of Taormina later that day. unfortunately there are no stops at beaches, you will see Scala dei Turchi passing by with the bus!

Do we have a luggage limit on size? Can we do a back pack and checked bag?

My husband and I took a 10 day tour of Sicilian Secrets, from Palermo to Palermo. From day one, we noticed a total lack of communication. There were no signs at the hotel, a person confimed we were in her group and spent a minute with us. The following morning (day 2) we had to ask several people which was our group, leader and so forth. We were not introduced to the peope in the grop and found out there were people wh had started days earlier in Catania and only spoke Spanish, We had booked a tour in English, the local tour guide gave bief explanations in Italian, Spanish and English, never given a real presentation of history or the like and so did the "tour guide" that represented Sicilian Secrets. They arrange a time and meeting point, but when we went there "on time" the group had made changes and had it not been by another tourist who did have a phone number of the guide, we would have been lost and without any contact. Things like this are unacceptable ! On the bus, unlike other well organized and properly led tours, the travelers that started earlier sat always up front next to Christine, the Tour guide, who connected very well with few people and left many of us feeling totally ignored. On what was supposed to be the third night at the same hotel, we found out, not by Christine, but by fellow travellers, that we would be moved to another hotel, and other group. Again, not previous communication or information was ever provided. On the day prior to the last two, we were again changed to another group. It seems to us that it might be beneficial for Sicilian Secrets to run a "loop" meaning soe people start in Catania and end there and others in other localities. Bonding with the group, as it is typically, part of the travel experience not only did not happen, but also and introduction of "where are your from" etc, would have been a good ice breaker. The only reason I'm rating it Okay is because the sites were amazing, the hotels were ok , the meals acceptable. The experience was confusing to say the least, mostly sue to surprises that were not gifts, but changes without notice.Show more

It was a great trip and felt it delivered what I thought it would and possibly slightly more. I wasn't expecting as many meals included so that was nice. But similarly I didn't realize entry fees into things were not included. I enjoyed it more for first half when only 14 of us. Numbers increased to 38 so different feeling even though lots of nice people. If more people keep price down and increase value for money on trip then not too bad. I liked age mix as wasn't sure what to expect. Thank you. Overall I would do another trip with you for sure.Show more

Sicily was magical & I very much enjoyed this tour very much indeed. Placido our guide was exceptional, incredibly knowledgeable, extremely well organised and a lovely guy, he’s a credit to your company and made the tour a very special experience. Whilst I do not wish to convey any negativity and would not hesitate to recommend this experience to other people, I was surprised to find so many people on the tour. When I booked the tour I was under the impression that I would be joining a small group of 12 - 16 when in fact it varied between 22 - 32 people which was a bit hectic & not quite what I was expecting. Our guide worked extremely hard to keep everything on track and on time which was a credit to him. The itinerary was excellent. The size of the group at first was not acceptable, had close to 50 people. It felt like we were on an hop on and off bus tour as after starting the tour people got off in Catania and others joined in. At that point tour was with 20 people and it was a pleasure. The guide, Placido , was very knowledgable. However he did not have a pleasant disposition, rushed people through, oblivious to the needs of the people in terms of their physical limitations. and hearing disabilities.We had elderly people on the group that could not keep up with the pace. Had problems understanding Placido mainly because he spoke very quickly. Most of the food was great. The acomodations mostly were ok, except for the hotel Il Principe in Catania where we spent more than one night was not acceptable. The bathroom was dirty and had mold. Even after our experience we made our concern known to the front desk, the response was unsympathetic and nothing was done to remedy the issue. The elevator was incapable of carrying the passengers and luggage and broke down. We were forced to use the service elevator which could only acomodate 2 bags and one person at a time. The hotel staff were non existent to assist at these matters. Overall we enjoyed the tour. Thanks.Show more

  I know you can't redeem the estimate vouture until 72 hours before the tour. But your instructions say to open the tourradar app and go to the home page or menu to redeem. I can't find neither the "home page" nor "menu". Where do you find the estimate on the app?

We don't want to go to the Mount Etna on Day 4 (2 have knee problems). Is it possible to be picked up only to go to Taormina? No stop to beaches (Cala dei Turchi, etc.) planned?

  the bus cannot change itinerary but you are free to not get down from the bus for the visit of Mount Etna and enjoy only the visit of Taormina later that day. unfortunately there are no stops at beaches, you will see Scala dei Turchi passing by with the bus!
