  The driver/guide (Pradeep) was a very nice person but seemed to be more of a driver than a guide with a lack of information conveyed. We would be dropped off at a venue with very little information and expected to wander in and find our way around. Basically, all venue entrance fees were payable and none to my knowledge included in the tour. The main hotel in Ella that was promised was unavailable even though we booked our tour well in advance and no options for the cancelled train ride were offered even though there were shorter journeys available.Show more

  After a few hiccups in communication at the start of the trip it turned into a great trip. We had booked a group tour but after paying it said private tour which we ended up enjoying very much. Our driver was very pleasant and accommodating. It was nice to say we want to skip this and spend more time here. Our driver who told us to call him Tlock made the trip for us. I will add that Nicole helped to iron out the issues before the trip started. This was the final lag of a 3 week trip and trying to details about the tour were challenging. With that said we got the final details on day 2 of the trip that included the hotels we stayed in. While the challenges were in details, some of it could have been handled with a gentler tone. Again, I will say, that our driver and Nicole, helped with these misunderstandings and made trip very memorable. With all that said I went from never again will I ever use tour radar again to yes I will. Out of the 3 countries we visited this was our favorite and want to return to again.Show more

From the moment we arrived to the end of the trip, everything was well organized and stress-free. The itinerary was perfectly planned, allowing us to explore beautiful destinations, cultural sites, and scenic landscapes without feeling rushed.   There are many many better tours out there for this money, keep looking around and see what else you can find. This tour includes no attractions or tickets, so add £200 per person to your costs , by which point you might as well book another tour Guide was advertised as English speaking but actually barely spoke a word, making it difficult to actually go where you wanted or to try and discuss what you wanted to do each day. The bridge advertised on the image is NOT the iconic Sri Lanka Ella bridge , the train doesn’t go over that on this journey , a fact they conveniently ignored until I brought it up Look elsewhere, I promise you won’t regret it if you take the time to find another tourShow more

For complete transparency, all our tour descriptions, including the one for your package, clearly state in the "Exclusions" section that entrance fees are not included. We also sent you a detailed breakdown of these optional costs, which amounted to approximately $208 USD for two people, before your arrival. Regarding our staff: Your tour package included an experienced local driver, not a certified tour guide. There is a significant difference in service and cost between the two roles. Our drivers are experts in navigating the country safely and ensuring you reach your destinations, while our licensed tour guides provide in-depth historical and cultural commentary. We offer separate packages with certified guides for those who prefer a fully guided experience. During the tour, our team checked in with you, and the feedback we received was that the driver was "nice and friendly." We always encourage guests to contact us immediately if any part of the service is not meeting expectations so we can address it right away. Concerning the bridge image: The image used in the tour promotion was taken on a scenic bridge in the Nuwara Eliya region, which is part of the highland train journey. This is a separate location from the famous Nine Arch Bridge in Ella. As a tour operator, we use images that represent the landscapes of the regions visited. The Nine Arch Bridge was not listed as a location on your specific itinerary, and we regret any misunderstanding this may have caused.   The overall experience was amazing. Our driver Sampath was excellent he waited patiently at the airport for more than 2 hours because of a delay.He took us to places not on the itinerary. He even helped arrange a bouquet of flowers from my son in the UK with my sister to surprise me on Mothers Day. He was kind and considerate and had a good knowledge of each destination. The not so good was that each accommodation was in fairly remote areas with lack of local amenities within walking distance, we had to rely on the B/B to provide food so had no choices or walk in unlit roads with a torch if there was a restaurant reasonably close by.Show more

  We did a 5 day/4 night tour. Initially we thought the tour was great value for money but was unaware of all the unmentioned extra costs and that it only included hotel, breakfast and driver. On the first day we were dropped at Milennium Elephant Foundation which cost $60USD for the 2 of us. The tour itinerary stated Pinnawalla elephant sancurary, which was not where we were taken. The rest of the tour followed similarily, where suddenly we would arrive at another 'tour' not menitoned in our intinerary (eg. Village tour, spice tour, whitewater rafting etc), which each cost another $20+ USD pp. We would've appreciated more transparency, along the lines of a daily itinerary which included pricing for all the "included" tours, as well as details about the optional extra activities. That being said, once we established that this wasn't how we wanted to travel, our guide Janika, was very accommodating. He was very knowledgeable about native plants and foods. On the last day Janika even spent about an hour helping us find our crashed drone amongst the tea plantations, which resulted in him getting covered in leaches. He went above and beyond so we were very grateful.Show more
