Arrival in Cotonou
You'll arrive in Cotonou and head to your hotel in Ouidah for check-in. The rest of the evening is yours to settle in and get comfortable after your travels.

National University - Dantokpa Market
After breakfast, you'll see the burgundy and white striped Cotonou Cathedral, then move on to the National University of Benin (founded in 1970). Later in the day, you'll walk through Dantokpa Market, which spreads across over 20 hectares and ranks among Benin's biggest shopping centers.

Quidah Voodoo Festival
You'll head to Quidah, the spiritual heart of voodoo practice in Benin. There you'll join thousands of believers at the Place of No Return monument to receive blessings from the voodoo chief, and experience singing, chanting, dancing, and drumming throughout the day.

Ganvie (Venice of West Africa)
This morning takes you to Ganvie, a 300-year-old village built entirely on water. You'll see traders in dugout canoes exchanging goods, check out the floating market, and take a canoe ride through the waterways to experience daily life on the lagoon.

- Day 5
Grand Popo and Villa Karo Cultural Centre
After breakfast, you'll drive to Grand Popo and tour Villa Karo, a Finno-African cultural center that's been operating since 1999. The town itself grew up around the slave trade and now functions as both a voodoo center and fishing community.

Lome
You'll have breakfast and then head toward Lome. Along the way, you'll stop at Grand Marche, Marche des Feticheurs, Musee National, and Place de l'Independence before continuing to your hotel in Accra.

Accra City Tour
You'll spend the full day in Accra checking out the city's administrative and economic areas. On your list are the W.E.B. Dubois Center for Pan African Culture, Independence/Black Star Square, Kwame Nkrumah Memorial Park, and the Arts Centre where you can shop for authentic African items.

- Day 8
Kakum National Park and Cape Coast
After an early breakfast, you're heading to Kakum National Park and its 360 sq km of tropical rainforest. You can either take a 2 km nature walk or try the Canopy Walkway with seven bridges that hang 100 feet above the forest. In the afternoon, you'll visit Cape Coast Castle (built in 1653 by the Swedes) and tour the slave dungeons.

- Day 9
Elmina Castle and Posuban Military Shrine
An early breakfast gets you started before heading to Elmina Castle, also called St. George's Castle, built by the Portuguese in 1482 and the first European structure in Sub-Saharan Africa. You'll tour the slave dungeons and condemned cells, then visit Posuban Military Shrine to see how traditional Fanti soldiers prepare spiritually.

Departure
After a relaxed breakfast, you'll have time to rest or pack up. You'll check out by noon and drive back to Accra, grab an early dinner on your own, then head to the airport for your flight home.
