Yes it is possible a 6 month old child to join the tour.

What is the mode of travel between places? Do all 7 tourists travel together and are they with a guide only or with other tourists? What is the average age in these groups? What is the weather like in mid-March?

The Highlights of Portugal - Lisbon, Alentejo, Sintra, Porto, and Douro Valley tour is a private tour, meaning that all services, such as tours and transfers, are provided privately just for you and the person accompanying you. In mid-March, Portugal is entering spring, but the weather is still quite changeable. Temperatures are generally mild. In the north, including Porto, daytime temperatures are usually around 15 to 17 degrees Celsius, and nighttime temperatures often fall to about 8 to 10 degrees. In central and southern areas, such as Lisbon, daytime temperatures are often around 18 degrees, with nights around 11 degrees. Rain is still fairly common in March. Many parts of Portugal experience regular showers, and Lisbon typically sees around 13 rainy days during the month. The north tends to be wetter than the south. Daylight increases noticeably in March, and there are more sunny periods compared with winter, although rain and clouds still occur frequently.

Can you verify cost of the single supplement? Tour base cost is $3041 but when single supplement is added it jumps to $4885 that is an increase of $1844!

This is a tour designed to a minimum of two passengers. It is also a semi private tour, meaning only the day tours are with a group, and accommodation, transfers and meals are private. That's the reason for the pricier single supplement. I can suggest other tours more single traveler friendly or adjust this one for you specifically, but the same type of tour applies - day tours with a small group and other services private.

Can you please let me know if the price of the tour includes single occupancy accommodations or if you must share a room with another group participant?

If you select the desired departure and date and choose one traveller you will get the price with the single supplement. We do not pair travellers.

What are the arrival and departure times on the first and last day of the tour?

On the first and last day of the tour, we only book transfers. This allows clients to rest after arrival and depart at their most convenient time. Transfers are private and can be made at any time.

Do you have your schedule beginning around April 30-May 2, 2026? I will be travelling single. What is the single supplement cost please.

Is travel insurance mandatory?

It is not mandatory to purchase this specific travel insurance, though having some form of protection during your travels is recommended.

We saw a lot of a beautiful, historic country. We really enjoyed that the guides were local to each area such as João and Bruno, and they customized the tours based on the group, people, traffic, and personal knowledge. They always knew where to park (or who to get permission from) and peppered in personal favorite local stops in historic neighborhoods or food shops. The 3 hotels we stayed at were excellent, in safe neighborhoods, and easy walking distance to shops and such. The tour could be more efficient and consistent in a few ways. There were 4 in our cohort, 2 groups of 2, but the guides thought we were all one group and started tailoring to the elderly couple who didn't want to walk much (its not really a great tour for people up to 90 years old) - it took us a couple days to figure out that we were missing things because of this. We enjoyed staying in small-town Evora, and would have liked to stay in more small towns between Lisbon and Porto instead of looping back to those cities for the night. The two small groups were booked into different hotels in Lisbon, but the guide was not informed of this, which resulted in confusion. The guide taking us from Lisbon to Porto was instructed to just drive us there, yet our itinerary involved stops along the way, which we pushed for to a degree, but missed most of Coimbra because of this (the tour company compensated us for this a bit). The activities were not coordinated across the entire trip, so we had some duplicates. For example, we did a cooking class in Lisbon, but an introduction the the pastry we cooked was part of the Porto itinerary too. We enjoyed getting to coastal towns briefly, but it would have been nice to spend the night in one - maybe Nazare on the way between Lisbon and Porto - or Coimbra for something a little different. We were a bit surprised that we had to fund some activities, such as Chapel of Bones in Evora, yet meals were included in the Porto and Duoro Valley tour days but not earlier. Inconsistencies aside, it as a pleasant, and informative whirlwind tour. We thoroughly enjoyed the local guides and very tour small group. Now I know places I would like to visit for longer time periods on future Portugal trips.Show more

The guides were friendly, professional, and knowledgable. Victhor, in particular, was exceptional! The Noble House and the Turim Oporto were both lovely hotels. The location, staff, and breakfast at the Avani were all good but the room was dark, cramped, and worn. Regarding the itinerary, we felt like we spent too much time in the car and too much time looking at castles and churches. We spent three nights in Lisbon but didn't get to see much of it because were we whisked off in a car to see small towns located far away. The day trip to Sintra made sense, but I think a day touring Lisbon would have been better than all the small towns we saw on the other days. Our guides worked with us and we removed a couple of towns, but I think the middle three days of this itinerary could be improved by spending a full day touring Lisbon. It felt like we spent as much time in the car as we spent sightseeing.Show more

I had the typical expectation of a minivan with many other people but this was first class and incredibly personalized. Also the hotels were all top notch. Assuming your home country does not have a visa agreement with the country you're planning to visit, you will need to apply for a visa in advance of your scheduled departure.

Payment information
- For any tour departing before June 19th, 2026 a full payment is necessary. For tours departing after June 19th, 2026, a minimum payment of 20% is required to confirm your booking with Portugal Travel Center. The final payment will be automatically charged to your credit card on the designated due date. The final payment of the remaining balance is required at least 45 days prior to the departure date of your tour. TourRadar never charges you a booking fee and will charge you in the stated currency.
- Some departure dates and prices may vary and Portugal Travel Center will contact you with any discrepancies before your booking is confirmed.
- The following cards are accepted for "Portugal Travel Center" tours: Visa, Maestro, Mastercard, American Express or PayPal. TourRadar does NOT charge you an extra fee for using any of these payment methods.
Cancellation Policy
- Your money is safe with TourRadar, as we only pay the tour operator after your tour has departed.
- TourRadar is an authorized Agent of Portugal Travel Center. Please familiarize yourself with the Portugal Travel Center payment, cancellation and refund conditions.
