  The tour content was very good and Tiegan, the tour guide was great. Her knowledge and energy are exactly how a guide should be. My issue is with the. Oban accommodation and the complete lack of interest from the office. In summary, because the office know the details and haven’t even bothered to respond, the Oban hostel is above a late night bar-1pm on a Monday. Two rooms are affected, room 14 and 15 and it is like being in the bar. I messaged the operator this in the middle of the night-of course I knew there would be no response, but I was making them aware at the time to show I was trying to be proactive with the problem. The staff at the hostel were rude to me and I had three hours sleep, because it was an early start the next day. Tiegan also let me know the office knew and they’d get back to me. Nothing. I prompted them mid morning and received a ‘we’ve been busy today but we’re investigating’ generic response. Nothing. It’s now 11 days later and… nothing. I stay in hostels all the time BUT, I wouldn’t choose a hostel with a bar in it-and nor should a tour company. A tour advertised with a ‘ceilidh’ and fun is very different to the second hand noise of a bar in your dorm- this is directed to the female in the office who was trying to convince me three hours sleep was acceptable. Being that sleep deprived really spoilt my next couple of days as all I wanted to do was go to bed. That no one could even apologise is pathetic. I’m currently booking another tour to Scotland but on the basis of the total indifference from the office, I won’t be using Haggis again.Show more

Most importantly I would like to note that the Reservations team did indeed respond to your messages, and they apologised you had had a disrupted sleep. They also reassured you that the next accommodations were not near any pubs/bars. They sent a message as soon as the tours check in for that day was over and had opened the shop. They never received any response from you after this. They did apologise to you, and did extend suggestions for dinner around Portree once you had settled that evening. They also advised that the issues were passed on regarding the hostel to our operations team. Not once did anyone say it was acceptable that you only had three hours sleep. I am sorry you felt the situation was not handled accordingly, but I trust the team did all they could to acknowledge that you had had a poor experience on the first night, they apologised, and advised they were on hand if you required anything further. It was well-organized and offered a great insight into the whisky-making process. -The hostel accommodation was clean, comfortable, and exceeded expectations. -The overall organization of the trip was smooth, with good time management and clear communication. Negatives: -The age range of participants was not as advertised. The tour was marketed for travelers aged 18–45, but most participants were well over 60. This significantly impacted the group dynamic and energy. -The itinerary included too many museum stops for my taste. I would have preferred more outdoor activities or historical landmarks. For example, the Old Man of Storr was only viewed from a distance during a brief photo stop—no hike or closer visit was included. -A major disappointment was Eilean Donan Castle. Despite being a famous and iconic site, we didn’t go inside or even get close—just a 5-minute photo stop from afar. With regards to the age range of passengers for this tour, the Highland Fling tour is one of our multi-day tours shared between Haggis Adventures passengers and passengers travelling with our sister brand Highland Explorer Tours Ltd. Feedback from past passengers prompted our company to offer the same 5-day tour itinerary to passengers from both brands to increase the diversity and age range of our passengers. Since making this change to merge passengers on select tours, we have received positive feedback from our travellers who enjoy sharing travel experiences with a more diverse group. We will ensure that all third party booking partners are clearly marketing the age range of passengers for each tour to ensure expectations are managed prior to departure. We welcome your feedback regarding the number of museum stops alongside time spent at The Old Man of Storr and Eilean Donan Castle. During the peak summer months, coach bay parking at both locations is extremely limited and therefore our driver guides will decide each day of the tour whether it is possible to include an extended stop at each location or whether it will be necessary to include a shorter scenic photo stop. We regret that longer could not be allocated during the schedule to these featured stops during your travel dates. Every effort will be made to maximise the time spent at the highlight locations and where possible additional bonus stops will be offered to showcase even more of bonnie Scotland where timings/ availability allows. He made the trip entertaining and informative - warning ‼️ if you choose this company get the HOTEL package it includes free hot/cold buffet breakfast at each location NOT the hostel option - I switched mid trip to hotels as the hostel accommodations were the absolute cheapest options and got worse as the trip went -had no towels for a shower, creaky/ noisy beds no plugins at the beds, no reading lights, not nice at all - and last one had shared unisex bathroom all all toilets were constantly clogged plus “very sketchy men” I felt bad for fellow women who stayed at Inverness hostel - as they told me -you made the right choice.- Remember the tiny towns had nothing (not even a store) - open at 8-8:30 am so couldn’t even buy coffee or food till 2 stops away. It was hard being there so early spring so a lot of places were closed but definitely our guide made sure we had a good time and took us to places off the tour in the areas that we wanted to see. Torva had great stories and he definitely made the trip entertaining.Show more

The history of the places and fun facts kept coming as we drove to and from each destination. Our guides went out of their way to show us an amazing day! Besides viewing the Western Highlands of Scotland, my favourite was The Kelpies. The history of the sculptures, and the majesty and beauty of the Kelpies against the beautiful landscape, was something I will always remember.Show more
