- Day 1
Negombo
Your representative meets you at the airport and your chauffeur takes over from there. The drive to Negombo takes you through a traditional fishing village where you'll see catamarans and beaches. Once you settle in, that's your first night sorted.

Negombo to Wilpattu
After breakfast, you'll get on a boat tour through Muthurajawela marsh, which is Sri Lanka's largest peat bog with some really unique wildlife and different ecosystems to see. The afternoon brings a jeep safari in Wilpattu National Park where natural lakes and leopards are the main draws.

- Day 3
Wilpattu to Habarana
You're heading toward the cultural triangle, stopping first at the ancient Dambulla cave complex from the 3rd and 2nd centuries BC, good for bird watching too. Later in the day, Pidurangala comes next, a historical temple complex that's now popular with people looking for sunset views.

- Day 4
Habarana
After breakfast, you'll walk through the well-kept ruins at Polonnaruwa with its palaces, monasteries, brick structures, stone monuments, temples, lakes and pagodas. Medirigiriya is your next stop, a historic site with pre-Christian origins and a preserved medicine boat. By afternoon, a jeep safari in Minneriya National Park gets you to a wildlife hotspot known for its elephants.

Habarana to Kandy
You'll see Sigiriya first, the 1000-year-old rock fortress with landscaped gardens, water fountains, sanctuary and frescoes. Then you drive to Kandy with stops at a spice garden and batik factory in Matale along the way. In Kandy itself, there's a cultural dance performance to catch and the Temple of Tooth during evening ceremonies, one of Sri Lanka's most sacred Buddhist sites.

Kandy
Start with the Udawattekele Sanctuary, a 200 to 300 year old forest behind the Temple of the Tooth that cleans Kandy's air. You'll get a guided tour of the city itself. The Royal Botanical Gardens of Peradeniya are optional if you want to see Asia's largest orchid collection. After that, you travel to Kitulgala.

- Day 7
Kitulgala to Nuwara Eliya
White water rafting is available if you want to try it. Then comes a scenic train ride from Hatton to Nanu Oya, after which your driver picks you up and takes you to Nuwara Eliya in the hill country center. The views on the drive are really nice, and the evening is yours to walk around in the cool climate.

- Day 8
Nuwara Eliya to Ella
Morning in Horton Plains Nature Reserve with a naturalist guide showing you sambar, leopards and endemic purple-faced langurs. You'll hike to World's End where the 2000-meter plateau drops off dramatically. Later you head to Ella and trek to the Nine Arch Bridge, one of the area's most popular hikes.

- Day 9
Ella
Lipton's Seat gives you views over the tea plantations where Thomas Lipton once surveyed his estate, and there's even a life-sized statue of him on a bench for photos. You'll also hike Little Adam's Peak for high-point views of the Ella region. After that, you travel toward Sinharaja Forest Reserve, one of Sri Lanka's least disturbed rainforests.

Sinharaja to Udawalawa
The morning is spent walking through Sinharaja rainforest reserve, experiencing the streams, springs, rivers, waterfalls, and wildlife like leopards, monkeys and rare species. You then travel to Udawalawa to visit the Elephant Transit Home, set up in 1995 to rehabilitate orphaned elephant calves for release into the wild.

- Day 11
Udawalawa to Yala
Morning jeep safari in Udawalawa National Park, one of Sri Lanka's dry zone forests with one of Asia's largest Asian elephant populations plus three deer species. On the way to Yala, you stop at Kataragama, a major pilgrimage shrine for Buddhist, Hindu, Muslim and Vedda communities dedicated to Skanda.

- Day 12
Yala to South Beach
Your safari in Yala National Park starts early, driving around in a jeep to spot wild elephants in various herd sizes, spotted deer herds and possibly leopards at water holes. From there you head to the South Beach region, stopping to check out Galle, a historic city with 300 years of Dutch colonial character still visible in the Portuguese-Dutch fort and old buildings.
