We have just finished an incredible 11-day tour of Sri Lanka with Mango Vacations, and we cannot recommend them highly enough. The highlight of our trip was undoubtedly our wonderful guide and driver, Pavi. From the moment we arrived until the day we left, Pavi was calm, caring, attentive and genuinely invested in making sure we had the best possible experience. Nothing was ever too much trouble, and he consistently went above and beyond to ensure we were comfortable, happy and making the most of every day. His passion for Sri Lanka is infectious. We loved learning about the country’s history, culture and traditions, and his local knowledge, recommendations and personal connections allowed us to experience places and moments we never would have discovered on our own. Every day felt authentic, well planned and full of memorable experiences. Pavi created such a warm, positive and fun atmosphere throughout the trip that it felt like we were travelling with a friend rather than a tour guide. His kindness and thoughtfulness were especially appreciated during Sri Lanka’s many steps, climbs and hikes. He was always there to offer a helping hand, patiently ensuring everyone was comfortable and enjoying themselves. We also felt completely safe throughout our journey thanks to his excellent driving. Navigating Sri Lanka’s busy roads is no easy task, but Pavi’s confidence, experience and professionalism meant we could simply relax and enjoy the scenery. His communication was always clear, informative and reassuring, making our entire trip completely stress-free. A special mention also goes to the food recommendations! We absolutely loved experiencing Sri Lankan cuisine and now completely understand why Pavi could happily eat dhal curry every day! More than just an outstanding guide, Pavi became a wonderful companion during our journey. His professionalism, generosity, warmth and genuine care made this holiday truly unforgettable. Thanks to him, we will always look back on our time in Sri Lanka with such fond memories. Thank you, Pavi, and thank you to Seya and everyone at Mango Vacations for creating such an exceptional experience. We hope our paths cross again one day, and we would recommend Mango Vacations—and especially Pavi—to anyone looking for an authentic, seamless and unforgettable tour of Sri Lanka. What our customers ask about Nature & Wildlife Tours & Trips in Asia
When is the best time to go on a Wildlife tour in Asia?
Wildlife viewing seasons in Asia depend on the destination. For tiger spotting in Indian national parks like Ranthambore and Bandhavgarh plan your visit between October and April when dry conditions bring animals to water sources. Borneo's orangutan viewing is best from March to October with particularly good conditions at Sepilok Orangutan Centre. The Maldives offers wildlife encounters year-round though whale sharks and manta rays are most active from December to April at South Ari Marine Protected Area.
What kind of wildlife can I expect to see on these tours?
The wildlife varies across Asia's diverse regions. India's national parks host Bengal tigers leopards sloth bears and hundreds of bird species. Visitors to Ranthambore frequently report close encounters with tigers including mothers with cubs. Borneo's dense rainforests are home to orangutans proboscis monkeys gibbons and hornbills. The Maldives waters teem with marine life from whale sharks and manta rays to sea turtles and dolphins especially around South Ari Marine Protected Area.
What type of accommodation can I expect on Wildlife tours in Asia?
Lodging ranges from basic to luxurious depending on location. Near India's tiger reserves guests stay in well-appointed jungle lodges. Borneo offers distinctive options like the Sabah Tea Longhouse and the acclaimed Borneo Rainforest Lodge set in ancient protected forest. For Maldives wildlife cruises boats like the MV Felicity provide air-conditioned cabins in a traditional Turkish gulet design perfect for island hopping and wildlife viewing.
How many safari drives are typically included in an Asia Wildlife tour?
Most locations schedule 2-3 wildlife drives per day. Ranthambore National Park typically includes two 3-hour jeep safaris daily while Kanha National Park offers 4 safaris over a 2-day period. Multiple outings increase wildlife viewing chances significantly. Recent visitors report successful tiger sightings during both morning and evening drives at Ranthambore demonstrating the value of frequent excursions.
What makes Asian Wildlife tours unique compared to other destinations?
Asian wildlife tours blend remarkable biodiversity with cultural richness. The experiences range from tracking tigers through India's forests to watching orangutans in Borneo's canopy and swimming alongside whale sharks in Maldivian waters. The tours also weave in cultural elements like temple visits in India conservation education in Borneo and connections with island communities in the Maldives creating multifaceted travel experiences.
How many people are typically in a wildlife tour group?
Groups remain intentionally small for better wildlife viewing. Indian safari vehicles carry 4-6 people while Borneo tours usually cap at 12-16 participants to protect the environment. The MV Felicity in the Maldives takes just 12 guests in 6 cabins. These limited numbers allow for more focused guidance and improved chances of wildlife sightings according to recent tour participants.
