while we are in Seville, can I go on my own to a tour of el Caminito del Rey also when I get to Oviedo can I cut my trip short and go on my own since I already saw the rest of the cities?

We have booked for a tour on the 14th of Oct : Madrid, Portugal and North of Spain. We are not flying in, we are planning arriving Madrid likely by train and hope to be in Madrid a day before the tour. My question is, where would the meeting place be, or where do we go to make ourselves known to the people handling the tour group?

Some of the guides were great but some were very weak. The guides as well as the passengers and the busses changed almost every day sometimes leading to confusion and delays. The itinerary was very good but any delay caused the day to become rushed. The Hotels were better than I expect especially Breakfast. Most stops were just for one night, sometimes with late check ins and early check outs. Over all the itinerary was well thought out and enjoyable.Show more

The tour in itself covers a lot of places that one wouldn't probably get to do or see if you were to do it on your own. In saying that, there will be places you wish you had more time to explore. Some days end really late and then have an early morning start to a totally different place. The sights are awesome, and the guides are fantastic polyglots. As I understand and speak Spanish, I can verify that what was said in one language was pretty much translated to the next language. Some guides translated into as many as three languages! It is important to note that guides in the bus from hotel to hotel are not necessarily tour guides (although they do this too!) but they are your transfer guides, managing the group from one area and hotel to another, and managing those that are joining or leaving the group as per their individual itineraries. Land guides picked up for the area you are visiting are pretty much the tour guide for that area and will give you a lot of history and information about the place, mostly while on a walking tour. Some will have flags so you can see them from afar, but do try to keep pace as they dish out the info while walking. Try to use this time too to munch on some fruit or snacks as meal times can be erratic (except for the 6.30am breakfast). One has to really have a certain level of fitness to keep up. There is a lot of walking and a lot of walking surfaces are uneven as they are very old (think cobblestone streets and rocky walkways on castles) so make sure you have very comfortable shoes on. Compression socks are also good to have. Toilet stops can be difficult with long lines, so be aware of this if you have bladder issues! The buses are giants and the drivers are amazingly skilled. From this experience I would have learned to (personally) possibly have a shorter tour with more time in each city to explore a bit more on my own. Last advice is to add a day before and maybe a day or two after the tour to recover!Show more

  We evaluate the situation on each destination every week, should we find a significant change that forces us to cancel the departure we will promptly inform you. In the past, due to these changing situations we have been forced to cancel a departure up to seven days prior to the departure date. In the case of a cancellation we will work with you in order to find another suitable departure, or to give you the refund of the total of your payment.
  We will not be held liable to any other costs incurred such as airfare or hotels not booked with us. We understand that this is a situation less than ideal, but we owe you total clarity.
  
  However, for your peace of mind, in the last year, we haven't had any cancellation of any of our tours. Only small modifications to guarantee the tour.
  
  Currently our regular departures are operating with a minimum of two passengers, the most flexible policy of any major touroperator.

  How can we possibly make the booking if we are two persons but come to Madrid from different countries? I mean, myself will come from Greece and my sister from the UK. How can I make the booking please? - to share the cost between us - to be pick-up at the airport on our arrival that has different flights (coming from different countries)
