  Well organised. Excellent Tour Guide. Optional Tours changed just before tour started was very disappointing. Hotel was located close to Haneda airport which was very convenient. We didn't have to carry our luggage in the Bullet Train as our luggage was delivered back to our hotel separately. Very helpful!!!Show more

  I hope this message finds you well. I wanted to share my thoughts and feedback regarding the trip I recently took with your company. Unfortunately, my overall experience did not meet my expectations, and I feel that the value I received was not in line with the cost of the trip. Two of the hotels we stayed in were below expectations, the itinerary had described deluxe accommodations—but two out of four of the hotels felt outdated, with uncomfortable beds and pillows, and one was located near train tracks, making it quite noisy and our first hotel was quite far from Tokyo which added to the inconvenience. We paid $2,000 each for this trip, and while it included hotel stays, a day with a tour guide, an extra bullet train ride, and transportation from the train station to our hotel, the quality of the accommodations and services did not align with what I anticipated. Additionally, I’ve traveled with other tour groups at a similar price point that included more services—such as additional meals beyond the hotel breakfast, a tour guide who stayed with the group, group activities at no extra cost and provided more assistance during the trip, plus transport to and from the airport. Unfortunately, our return journey was not as smooth. It took several hours to reach the airport with our luggage, and we were not informed beforehand that we needed to purchase a limousine bus ticket at the hotel. After taking two trains, we discovered that tickets were not available at the station, so we had to figure out how to get to the airport on our own. Given these circumstances, I would like to request a partial refund of $500 per person as compensation for the lack of value provided. As I mentioned to both you and Jane, if the changes to our accommodations or services were due to the need to be in Tokyo on March 17th, I believe it would have been helpful for us to have been made aware of this beforehand. Had I known, I might have chosen a different tour group that could better meet our expectations. I hope you can understand my concerns, and I look forward to hearing from you regarding a resolution. The hotel in Kyoto was chosen for its convenient location, with easy access to train stations and a central base for sightseeing. However, I recognize that the slight noise may have been an inconvenience, and we will review this in future planning. Regarding transportation to the airport, guests are required to arrange their airport transfers independently as indicated in our itinerary. Alternatively, guests have the option to request additional service if needed at additional cost, which was communicated prior to the trip. We also understand your frustration regarding the limited services compared to other tour groups you have experienced. We aim to be transparent about what is included in our tour packages, and the package details are clearly outlined on both TourRadar and our website. Lastly, I want to acknowledge that we did our best to accommodate your request for a last-minute hotel change in Tokyo, particularly around the Tokyo Dome area. This was successfully arranged for you with no additional cost as a courtesy as one of our valued travelers. While we aimed to meet your needs, we understand we still fell short in some areas based on your personal expectations. Unfortunately, we are unable to offer a partial refund, as it is stated in our terms and conditions that the paid amount is non-refundable.   What a ripoff trip , they over charged ! The agency is very unprofessional not even have tour guide just driver. Every day is optional tour charge extra. We paid for $8000 for family of 4 just on hotel , train tickets and 3 days driver. We could do this trip on our own without professional English speaking tour guild save lots of money. What a waste!Show more

Please be aware that our tour price and optional tours are clearly detailed in the itinerary. Optional Tours are never mandatory and other quotes for the special requests are not mandatory either. Once the tour is booked, our agent sent a reminder with instructions on how the tour operates. Additionally, during our communication on the TourRadar platform, we provided clear details about optional tour prices and informed travelers that the final itinerary will be available 2-3 weeks before departure. As an escorted tour, we need to meet a certain number of participants to operate the tour. We understand this is a peak vacation period, so we have made special arrangements to proceed with the tour despite the small group size. We have also arranged for enhanced transportation, including a round trips from Tokyo to Kyoto, to improve your travel experience. Our hotel accommodations have been set already, but our agent had worked diligently with the local team to make special adjustments based on the requests.   Overall we were pleased with the trip. The hotel in Tokyo was quite far away from the city center but had wonderful insensitive available and a good breakfast. Our group was only 25 people so the bus was comfortable and we got around pretty quickly. Our Guide Sumi was excellent and helpful although there were a few problems understand. She made general recommendations for restaurant areas and it was fun to find and sample the food. The city tours were additional but by the end we felt comfortable taking trains and exploring on our own.Show more

  I bought Groupons for an 8 day Japan trip for 4 of us for March 2020. The trip got cancelled and I was told I have credit to use. Now when I go to use my credit I am told they have to deduct an additional $255 per person which they claim they had to pay Groupon. I don't truly understand this charge but once Intertrips has your money you are obliged to what they tell you. I had to work with 3 different agents and they were not helpful at all. They keep passing the baton to the other when they don't want to work with me. Buyer beware: do not purchase any trips thru Groupon for this agency. We dickered around for weeks about the fees and how much they want to charge me which is more than what they charge on their website using their drop down menu. Then they wanted to charge extra for the airlines to depart 3 days later. They want to charge me extra for nonstop flights. Everything kept adding up. Now I still have a bit of credit with Intertrips and I'm afraid they will find more fees to deduct from this credit when I redeem it. I am very tired of Intertrips nickel and diming me for any fee.Show more
