Personal guide and driver were excellent. The Orion hotel was excellent, the hotel in Karakol was best available and certainly satisfactory. The Four Seasons hotel in Cholpan Ata was a serious problem. I gave our key to our guide to check out and did not realize that there was a charge for making tea in the morning and I should have checked out myself and paid the charges. The phone in the room would not work, I went to reception and asked them to send a repairman, he came but could not fix the phone. Internet access was only provided after we requested it. I asked the receptionist how our evening meal was to be paid for she had no knowledge so I paid for it.
- by David ClarkeThis trip was more than we expected. We had five guides and they were all great. we have been to 114 countries and this was the best trip of all.

We had a great tour around Issyk-Kul. We were showed a lot of beautiful nature and learned a lot about the Kyrgyzstan culture. Would definitely recommend!

Far too many long travelling days on very poor roads with not enough breaks. Even on the 'stay put' day in Karakol, the itinerary includes another 4 hours on an army vehicle (there and back) with a very short walk included. All walks included, except one, were very short strolls and not 'hikes' as the itinerary suggests. The Bisktek guest house is OK but far too far out of town to allow any sort of exploration of the city when you first arrive. Homestay was fine, as was the Karakol hotel. One common feature was the very small beds with horribly lumpy mattresses - all except for the Yurt Camp, which had the most comfortable beds of the entire trip.
- by PhilRisdaleSecond tour manager in Uzbekistan was also good. With excellent local knowledge.

The trip was very well organized, and it truly did have many activities in beautiful places. The guide was very well-versed in Kyrgyz history, and was able to communicate well in English. The accommodation booked through the company was great. It was a life changing adventure. I would highly recommend this company and this tour.

This year I traveled to Kyrgyzstan with MynameisTravel. A great trip in a good company and many unforgettable memories! Since I don't have long vacations, when I go anywhere, I want to make the most of everything in a short time. Their itinerary in Kyrgyzstan was intense and exciting, with 11 days of travel and almost 2500 km. Waterfalls, thermal springs, saline lake, horseback riding, selfie with a donkey :), nights in yurts, driving through a 4000 meters high mountain pass... Last but not least - I just have to mention our guide, Yevgeniy Ikhelzon. His knowledge about the places that we visited is impressive. I hope to be able to visit India and China with him next year!

This was one of the best things I’ve ever done, I had such a wonderful experience, made brilliant new friends and saw the most stunning scenery imaginable. YellowWood Adventures made the trip so enjoyable and painless, so if you want a different kind of adventure off the beaten track, I highly recommend you book with these guys!!”
- by Stephanie LeatherI did a similar tour with Yellow Wood but one that incorporated the World Nomad Games at Issyk-Kul. The landscape was of course the star of the show, with an itinerary that allowed us to experience a range of locations, from the Silk-Road splendour of Tash Rabat to the unmatched serenity of Song-Kul, experiences enriched by tour leader Sam and his able crew of Kyrgyz assistants, always aware and attentive but never intrusive. Yurt accomodation was surprisingly comfortable and the food, prepared by local families, delicious and plentiful. I would not hesitate to recommend Yellow Wood to anybody looking for a stimulating, memorable and ultimately exhilarating Kyrgyzstan escapade – particularly if Sam keeps his promise to upgrade the tour bus!

The tour of a lifetime. So worth it I can’t even explain. I’ve been a lot of places, but this was a whole experience.
- by Mariana DiogoThe trip was one of the most memorable trips I've ever had with a really great group of people. The drivers have been excellent and having that dynamic of a driver and leader does balance things out. Mark was a pretty terrible leader.. he's poor with observing local customs and can be misleading about local practice (we were in Central Asia when he kept insisting to save on spices because they were difficult to procure... sure....) so take things he says with a pinch of salt.. he's also known to skimp on meals and fed us a lot of the same meals (his cabbage salad, tomato and cucumber salad, very little meat and he would even skim on the tinned food that comes off the truck) even though mealtimes are suppose to be a group deciding effort - i believe this is a common problem with overland trips though. He would tell you he's being prudent for a good meal which never happens.. watch out for the food he buys.. i've seen him serve mouldy food (like bread, he'll toast it and scrape off the mould then serve it to you).. its very irresponsible as its an adventure trip.. when people fall sick, everyone falls sick together. The best meal we've had was in Iran when our local guide, Masoom, bought everyone about 2/3 chicken wings worth for dinner one night and prepared it personally. Mark was really peeved about this even though Masoom paid for dinner... all other meals we've had camping were 95% vegetarian... once we had chicken soup with no detectable trace of chicken, another meal we had horse meat, and one meal of Mexican chilli... i guess if its possible, pick another guide...

The tour was fantastic. Guides could have had a pre-talk before the walk as if was very hot trying to walk & talk in the heat.
- by World ExpeditionsI would unhesitatingly utilize the services of WE in the future and certainly recommend the organization to friends.

Yes I liked the tour overall. The colour, the beautiful architecture and decorations, the atmosphere of the places visited, as well as the friendly locals are memorable. Both the guides (very knowledgeable and obviously proud of their history and culture) went out of their way to accommodate our wishes and the drivers were excellent. On the minus side, the 2 long drives between cities/towns were rather tiring over badly surfaced roads and the Kyzylkum Desert and Amu Darya River were not as scenic as the itinerary made them out to be. The accommodation provided except for a coupe were not the standard we expected. In Uzbekistan we did not really complete all that was on the itinerary. It would have been good to have had more time after the guide's introduction to appreciate the details of the various aspects of the architecture and decorations of sites visited. Overall a very interesting experience.
