Dear A’ra, We are very sorry to read your negative feedback regarding your 5-Day Scottish Choice Tour and regret that your experience did not meet expectations. However, we must clarify several points in your review. As explained in detail in the email correspondence sent to you, your tour departure did operate as scheduled, with all key elements of the itinerary covered to the best extent possible under the day’s conditions. The driver will always attempt to make a stop at the Glenfinnan monument itself, but unfortunately on this day the carpark was full, and the staff on site were not accepting any buses. We do reserve the right to alter our itineraries, and we are glad you were still able to experience the beautiful surrounding scenery and drive much of the route of the Jacobite Steam Train. We are shocked to read your feedback regarding your expert driver guide. All our guides, including new members of the team, undergo extensive training and route familiarization before leading any multi-day tour. While Craig was newer to leading extended tours, he is a fully licensed and qualified guide who met all required standards before departure. Only a small handful of drivers are highlighted at any given time on our website and we have a large team of professional guides and drivers. Our quality records and passenger feedback from other customers do not reflect your comments. While regional accents can occasionally present challenges for some visitors, this does not reflect a lack of knowledge or effort on the guide’s part. We encourage passengers to voice such concerns during the tour so that accommodations can be made in real time. We can understand that a joke poking fun about not knowing some of the locations was not appreciated out of context and this feedback has been passed to our transport management. Regarding the vehicle, it was fully inspected before departure and cleared for service. Our fleet is maintained to high standards, and we would not knowingly send out a vehicle that is not fully fit for purpose. Our vehicles are checked every morning and evening to ensure that everything is functioning properly, but unfortunately issues can occur whilst on tour. A minor noise was reported and monitored throughout the trip and did not pose a safety risk. We sincerely apologise for any inconvenience caused regarding the noise on the bus and we have taken your feedback on board. We welcome all feedback that helps us improve, but we must also defend our guides and company and we are confident that your driver guide went above and beyond to try to give you a wonderful experience on tour. We remain committed to providing authentic, high-quality Highland experiences to every passenger but we regret that we were unable to match your expectations this time. Kind regards, Sofia Shop Manager Highland Experience

Hi Malek, Thank you for taking the time to share your detailed feedback. We're so pleased to hear that you enjoyed the beautiful sights, well-paced itinerary, and the hospitality of many of your B&B hosts. It's great to know that the breakfasts and stops along the way made a positive impression! We’re sorry to hear about the issues with the air conditioning and some challenges with accommodation layout. We understand that attic rooms and stairs can be tricky, and we truly appreciate you highlighting this. While many of the guesthouses we use are traditional properties with character, we always do our best to accommodate accessibility needs. If you have any preferences regarding room types or mobility concerns, you're very welcome to let us know at the time of booking, and we’ll do everything we can to make suitable arrangements. We’re also happy to hear you found the guide both witty and knowledgeable and we appreciate your patience with the Scottish accent! ???? Thanks again for choosing to tour with us, and we hope to welcome you back on another adventure in the future. Warm regards, Highland Experience Tours

My husband and I and my sister are hoping to do this tour however we would like to know, as my sister is travelling as a single - Is there a single supplement she would be charged and would we be able to request that she stay at the same accomodation as us - in her own room.

    Single supplement
    • Highland Experience ToursOperatorWritten January 2026

In order to book 2 rooms for your group of 3, select the following options when booking:

      B&B Ensuite - Double room - 2 travellers - £895 per person
      B&B Ensuite - Single room - 1 traveller - £1190 per person

There is a single supplement to account for the private room for one person.

We're happy to welcome children aged 3 and above on all of our Scotland tours, so a four-year-old is very welcome to join. Please note, that for children 3+ a valid ID would be required at check in. If you book through TourRadar, accommodation is included as standard as part of their package price.

I just noticed that you only have a 15kg limit on baggage. I am coming from Australia and after a family wedding in Denmark I'll then be heading on to Italy. 15kg's for me is now a disaster! International travel heading back for me is 30kgs plus carry on. how do I cancel this tour as there is no way I will only be travelling with 15kg's.

      Linda

      TravelerWritten November 2025

Do you have the capacity for baggage storage? Considering my previous question and your cancellation policy I was wondering if you had baggage storage for your overseas clients?

    • Highland Experience ToursOperatorWritten November 2025

Regarding baggage on our multi-day tours, we allow each passenger to carry one piece of luggage measuring a maximum of 55 cm x 40 cm x 20 cm, with a weight limit of 15kg. This is similar to the hand luggage permitted in an aircraft cabin. Alternatively, two travellers may share a larger suitcase up to a maximum weight of 20 kg. Unfortunately, we do not have any space available at our departure points to store larger items of left luggage. Should you have larger suitcases or luggage, there are left luggage offices at the train and bus stations in Edinburgh, Glasgow or Inverness. Our departure point is a short walk (5-10 minutes) from these locations. Alternatively, you can use the stasher website to find a storage location that suits you.

This tour does not include a ride on the Jacobite Steam Train. However, it does include a visit to the famous Glenfinnan Viaduct and you will get to ride some of the route that the train takes. We do offer a 4-Day Skye & The Jacobite Train Tour that would include a 1-way ride on the famous Hogwarts Express!

    • Highland Experience ToursOperatorWritten July 2025

Just to confirm, our 5-day Scottish Choice tour spends 1 night in Inverness however it does not include a ride on the Jacobite Steam Train. Our 4-day Skye and the Jacobite Train tour does include a 1-way journey on the Jacobite Steam Train however it does not visit Inverness. Although the 4-day Skye and the Jacobite Train tour does not visit Inverness, it does spend 1 night in the beautiful town of Fort Augustus which sits on the south end of Loch Ness.
