Could you please advise if the week before Ramadan is good timing to travel to Oman? They are concerned about attractions/restaurants/etc being closed/partially closed during the time leading to Ramadan.

During Ramadan, business hours are shortened, including opening hours at some tourist attractions. Alcohol is not permitted during daylight hours and many restaurants will be closed. While you should expect some delays and inconveniences during this period, the month is a fantastic opportunity to travel in a Muslim country and witness this unique period, particularly the nightly celebrations when the sun sets and the fast is broken. In the lead up to Ramadan, in general business hours operate as normal, but there may be some disruption. We would not run the tour if there was major disruptions to the itinerary, but some flexibility to the itinerary is to be expected.
