  The Classic Vietnam tour itself was very good but the customer service if something goes wrong is appalling. My flight was cancelled by the airline on arrival at Heathrow airport so I had to buy an alternative flight on the spot. I am legally entitled to a refund of my flight and compensation but over 3 months later I have had no refunds or update. I also asked Intrepid to be sure that my return flight was not cancelled by the airline as this can happen if an airline cancels the outbound. They assured me it would not be cancelled but on arrival at Hanoi airport I found that it had. I am over £1000 out of pocket so would never recommend travelling with Intrepid. There was also a mix up with my airport transfers so they agreed to refund me for the taxi I took however I they didn't send it. I have travelled with Exodus in the past who offer excellent service. If I get a refund I'll revise this post or write a new review to say so.Show more

Unfortunately, airline refunds and related claims can take a significant amount of time to process, particularly where cancellations and compensation are involved.   My wife and I recently completed the Classic Vietnam (Comfort) 14 day tour starting in HoChi Minh city and concluding in Hanoi. We had a great time due in no small part to the efficient organisation of the Intrepid team. We would especially like to give a big shout out to Trung, our tour leader, who explained passionately and in detail the social, historical and political aspects of Vietnamese life. While there is lots of inequality and poverty evident in all places visited there is also optimism for a brighter future. Tourism is increasing in Vietnam and that makes us part of a problem we noticed; over tourism. It seems a shame that such a lovely country is going down this path. Perhaps Visa restrictions could be tightened a little. Of course, that is not Intrepid’s fault and we would highly recommend anyone planning a visit to Vietnam to book their tour through them.Show more

  We had an amazing group and a great tour guide, Ngoc wanted us to have the true Vietnamese experience. Our dinners together were all amazing. Food was one of the highlights of the trip. On a tour where the country was beginning to shut down to tourists, he did an amazing job of keeping positive and continuing to share his knowledge of the country he calls home. Intrepid was not advising him about the changes that were coming down due to the COVID virus and so he was unable to answer our questions about parts of trip that were to be cancelled such as Halong Bay. Once the tour was cancelled Ngoc was concerned for our wellbeing and flights home. I will return on my credit received from Intrepid.Show more

  This was my first organised tour, I had some reservations about doing such a holiday. Everything was organised and and went very smooth. I could not have done and have seen as much as we did if I were to do things my self. I just enjoyed being able to enjoy it and not worry about what I had to organise next. What I liked the most was staying with local people and being hosted by them, it gives you more of an attachment to the place and the people you visit. I can’t wait to do another trip with Intrepid.Show more
