You'll arrive in Dunfanaghy, a coastal town where your trip begins. Get settled in and take time to explore the local area at your own pace. The town sits on the northern coast of County Donegal, so there's plenty of shoreline to walk along if you want to stretch your legs after traveling.

Gweedore - Dunlewy
This morning you'll head out for a hike near Dunlewy Lake with views of Mount Errigal, Donegal's highest peak. The route covers about 8.9 km with roughly 234m of elevation gain and 200m of descent, so it's moderate in difficulty. You'll want good hiking boots and bring water and snacks for the trek.

Dunlewy - Falcarragh
Today follows an old railroad line northward toward the Wild Atlantic Way coast, ending in Falcarragh. The day's walk totals approximately 14.9 km with around 338m of ascent and 369m of descent. You'll be on more varied terrain than yesterday, so bring layers since coastal weather can shift quickly.

Landmarks Wild Atlantic Way Falcarragh - Day 4
Gortahork
You'll walk a coastal route through moorland along the Wild Atlantic Way, heading toward Gortahork. This is your longest day at about 22.5 km with roughly 378m of ascent and 393m of descent. Plan to start early and pace yourself throughout the day. The moorland terrain offers different scenery from the previous hikes.

Dunfanaghy - Letterkenny
After breakfast in Dunfanaghy, you'll head out by private bus or public transport to Letterkenny. From there, you can connect onward to most major cities across Ireland, so arrange your transport based on where you're heading next.
