- Day 1
Lisbon
You'll land in Lisbon and have the day to get oriented in the capital. Take walks along the Tagus River's waterfront, which stays lively with locals and visitors. The Portuguese hospitality you'll encounter makes settling in easy, whether it's at a café or chatting with people you meet along the way.

Lisbon to Setúbal
After breakfast, you'll cycle along the Tagus to reach the port, then hop on a short ferry across the river to Seixal. From there your cycling starts in earnest as you head south across the peninsula. The route takes you through Arrábida Nature Park with its coastline and quiet swimming spots. Later you'll arrive in Setúbal, a historic town where you can see the grand palaces and country estates built by Portuguese nobility.

Setúbal to Sines
Start with a ferry through the Sado Nature Reserve where dolphins sometimes appear if you're lucky. Then you'll begin cycling on the Troia Peninsula, passing rice fields, sandy stretches with clear water, flower fields, and vineyards. Small villages with white-painted houses dot the route before you reach Sines, where you can walk the waterfront or check out the castle.

Sines to Vila Nova de Milfontes
Today you'll ride through one of Europe's most natural coastline sections in Costa Vicentina Natural Park. The ocean views stay constant throughout the day, and you'll see small harbors and fishing villages that'll make you want to stop repeatedly. By evening you'll reach Vila Nova de Milfontes, a coastal town with a large sandy beach where you can relax after cycling.

Vila Nova de Milfontes to Aljezur
You'll keep cycling through Costa Vicentina Nature Park, seeing different plants and wildlife along the route. High cliffs shape today's path, and the Atlantic wind keeps things refreshing as you ride. The day finishes in Aljezur, a village just a few kilometers from the coast. Here you can see traditional local architecture and walk up to the small historic castle for views over the surrounding farmland.

Aljezur to Sagres
This is your last full cycling day and it includes a special ride to Cape St. Vincent, the far southwestern point of Europe with its well-known lighthouse. It's a unique moment to stop and take a photo there. Sagres sits just a few kilometers away as your final overnight spot. The town offers cultural sites and has tall cliffs that overlook beautiful sandy beaches below.
