Bangkok
This day is yours to shape. The morning markets are busy and full of activity if you want to start early, or you might find quiet temples tucked away on side streets. A long-tail boat on the Chao Phraya River is a great option, and so is just walking around with no fixed plan. Food tours, cafes, shopping around 75°F/24°C weather. You'll have plenty of time.

Landmarks Chao Phraya River - Day 3
Bangkok to Luang Prabang
You'll fly from Bangkok to Luang Prabang and get settled at your boutique hotel. This UNESCO World Heritage site has a calm feel with old colonial buildings and temples everywhere. Head to the night market this evening to get a sense of local life and grab some dinner from the food stalls.

- Days 4 - 5
Luang Prabang
Two days here, so take your time. If you're up for it, go see the early morning alms-giving ceremony with monks. Walk the French colonial streets and check out the temples. The local markets have everything from food to crafts. Later, head out to Kuang Si Waterfalls for a swim and cool off. End each day at riverside cafes and hit the night market when it opens.

Siem Reap
Two full days to see what you want. Angkor Wat at sunrise is the main draw, and you'll see why once you're there. Bayon's massive stone faces are unforgettable, and Ta Prohm has that atmospheric quality with vines and old stone. Beyond that, there's markets to walk through, villages in the countryside, rice paddies, and Pub Street at night if you want energy and food and drinks.

Not much to do except relax, and that's the point.

Bamboo Island
Three days of island time ahead. Mornings you can walk the secluded beaches or swim in clear water. If you're into activity, there are trails through nature or kayaking along the shore. Snorkeling shows you what's underwater. By evening, the sunsets are worth staying out for, the sky fills with stars, and fresh seafood comes out of the kitchen. Each night feels a bit different even though you're staying in one place.
