Itinerary
- Day 1
Edinburgh to Oban
Head out from Edinburgh and drive through the Lowlands, passing Stirling Castle along the way. The landscape shifts noticeably as you cross into the Highlands with forested glens opening up and peaks coming into view. You'll have time to check out Loch Lomond and the Trossachs National Park, then stop in the charming 18th-century town of Inveraray before settling in for two nights in Oban.

- Day 2
Mull - Iona
Start early with a ferry from Oban to Mull, then take a short second ferry to reach Iona, where Celtic Christianity began. You've got free time to wander the historic abbey with its carved crosses or walk the island's rocky shores and beaches. An optional boat trip to Staffa and Fingal's Cave is available if you want to add that (extra charge applies). Ferry back to Oban for your second night there.

Oban to Balmacara
Leave Oban and travel along the coast with a stop to see Castle Stalker, a dramatic 14th-century tower sitting on a small islet. Next you'll reach Glencoe for a break to photograph its steep cliffs and dramatic rock faces. After that, pass through Fort William where you can see Ben Nevis looming overhead (tallest peak in the British Isles), then continue through the Great Glen to Balmacara. Arrive with the evening free to relax surrounded by loch views and mountain scenery.

- Day 4
Isle of Skye
Cross the Skye Bridge from Balmacara onto the Misty Isle. Your driver-guide adjusts the route based on weather to give you the best experience of Skye's landscape. Depending on conditions, you might explore the Trotternish Ridge in the north, seeing the Old Man of Storr, Kilt Rock, and the dramatic Quiraing pass with their striking rock formations and wilderness. Head back to Balmacara for a quiet evening.

- Day 5
Balmacara to Edinburgh
Leave Balmacara heading east toward the iconic Eilean Donan Castle for a closer look. Continue past sparkling lochs and towering peaks to a quaint village on Loch Ness where you'll have free time to grab local food, walk along the loch's edge, and search for the elusive monster. After one more break in Perthshire, drive back to Edinburgh.
