Your driver meets you at Beijing airport and takes you to your hotel. After checking in, you've got the rest of the day to yourself to wander around and get oriented.

Beijing
This morning you'll join a guided tour hitting Beijing's main sites. Head to Tiananmen Square and walk through the Forbidden City's halls and temples. After lunch, you'll go to the Summer Palace to see its lakes and gardens, then browse the Silk Store for souvenirs. Back at the hotel by evening with free time.

Beijing
You'll take a guided trip to Mutianyu on the Great Wall, a section that's well-preserved and less crowded than others. Spend time walking the wall, then grab lunch at a local restaurant. After that, you'll visit the Jade Factory to see how jade gets carved, and tour the Ming Tombs before heading back to Beijing. Evening is yours to do what you want.

Beijing to Xi'an
After breakfast, check out of your Beijing hotel. You'll travel to Xi'an by coach with comfortable seating and onboard amenities for the journey. When you arrive, your driver takes you to your hotel. The rest of the day is free for exploring on your own.

Xi'an
Your guide will take you around Xi'an's main landmarks. Start at the ancient City Walls, which rank among China's largest and best-preserved structures. Next you'll see the Grand Mosque, a historically important Islamic building, then walk through Hui Minority's Market where you can meet locals and buy handmade items. Evening is free back at your hotel.

Xi'an
After breakfast you'll meet your guide to see the Terracotta Warriors, one of archaeology's major 20th century finds. You'll learn about the hundreds of life-size soldiers made to protect the First Emperor's tomb. Then you'll visit the Terracotta Copy Factory to understand how they were created. Following lunch, head to the Big Goose Pagoda, a sacred Buddhist site in southern Xi'an, before returning to your hotel.

Shanghai
Meet your guide in the hotel lobby for a walking tour through the Former French Concession, a historic colonial neighborhood with tree-lined streets and old architecture. You'll see locals doing morning exercises, walk through residence communities, go inside traditional Shikumen buildings, and check out how artists and designers have transformed old structures into new spaces.

- Day 9
Shanghai
Your guide and driver give you a flexible day to experience Shanghai's culture. You'll go to Jade Buddha Temple to see two beautiful jade Buddha statues from Burma and watch active Buddhist practices. The Shanghai Museum has 11 galleries with 38,000 square meters of ancient bronzes, sculptures, paintings, and ceramics. You'll hunt for street food through Shanghai's alleyways and try the famous 'Four Guardians' breakfast dishes. Later, explore old alleys for tea and chat with locals about real Shanghainese life.
