Itinerary
- Day 1
Nairobi
Your safari starts when you land at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, where someone from the lodge will meet you and drive you to your hotel. After you settle in and get oriented, there's a briefing about what to expect on your safari. If your flight arrives with time to spare, you can head to the Giraffe Centre or Karen Blixen Museum to get some background on Kenya's wildlife and history before the day ends.

Nairobi to Lake Naivasha
After breakfast, you'll drive about 2.5 hours to Lake Naivasha, a freshwater lake where hippos and lots of birds hang out. Once you check in at the lodge, you'll get on a boat and head out across the water to watch hippos and water birds. If you're interested, there's also a guided walk on Crescent Island where you can see zebras, giraffes, and antelopes from closer up.

Lake Naivasha to Maasai Mara
You'll eat early, then spend 5 to 6 hours driving to the Maasai Mara National Reserve, passing through the Great Rift Valley along the way. After arriving at your lodge and having lunch, you'll go on your first game drive to look for the Big Five (lion, leopard, elephant, rhino, and buffalo), plus cheetahs and other wildlife on the plains.

- Day 4
Maasai Mara
This day is all about exploring the Maasai Mara on a full game drive through the open savannahs and hilly terrain. If you're visiting during migration season between July and October, you might see thousands of wildebeest and zebras crossing the Mara River in dramatic fashion. You'll have a picnic lunch out in the field, then keep looking for lions, hyenas, and other predators. There's a chance to visit a traditional Maasai village if you want, and the day ends with drinks at sunset back at the lodge.

- Day 5
Maasai Mara to Lake Nakuru
You'll head out early for one more game drive in the Maasai Mara while the light is still low and predators are hunting. Then after breakfast, you'll drive about 5 hours through nice landscape to reach Lake Nakuru National Park. In the afternoon, you'll go on a game drive around the lake, which is known for flamingos and rhinos, and you'll also see leopards, buffalo, and Rothschild giraffes.

Lake Nakuru to Nairobi
You'll start with an early game drive around Lake Nakuru National Park to look for hard-to-spot predators and other animals. After breakfast, you'll drive back toward Nairobi, which takes about 3 hours and gets you there by midday. Before heading to Jomo Kenyatta International Airport for your flight, you can stop at Carnivore Restaurant if you want to try their game meat and barbecue.
