North Sydney to Port-aux-Basques
Meet your tour director and driver in North Sydney, then board an overnight Marine Atlantic ferry heading to Port-aux-Basques. You'll have a private two-berth cabin with twin beds and your own washroom for the crossing, so you can settle in and get some rest during the journey.

Port-aux-Basques to Port au Choix
You'll arrive in Port-aux-Basques this morning and start driving northward through the scenic Codroy Valley toward Corner Brook. Stop at Torrent River to check out the salmon enhancement project at the Interpretation Centre and Fishway. By evening you'll be in the small fishing community of Port au Choix for the night.

Port au Choix to St. Anthony
Head up the Great Northern Peninsula to St. Anthony and visit L'Anse aux Meadows National Historic Site, where you can see reconstructions of three Norse buildings and learn about the Vikings who settled here. Later in the day, you'll explore the legacy of medical missionary Sir Wilfred Grenfell in St. Anthony.

St. Anthony to Battle Harbour
Travel to St. Barbe and take the ferry to Blanc Sablon, then continue into Labrador. From there you'll head to Battle Harbour, a restored heritage destination on a near-shore island that was once the economic and social center of southeastern Labrador. You can explore the settlement from the dock and get a sense of 18th, 19th, and 20th century life here.

Battle Harbour
This morning take a guided walking tour of Battle Harbour and learn about its fascinating history. In the afternoon, enjoy a leisurely boat tour around the Battle Islands, cruising along the rugged coastline and spotting smaller fishing villages that are still active today.

Battle Harbour to L'Anse au Clair
Leave Battle Harbour and return to Labrador's mainland. Visit Red Bay National Historic Site, a former Basque whaling station and UNESCO World Heritage Site. Stop at Point Amour Lighthouse, which stands 33 metres above the Labrador Straits and is the tallest lighthouse in Atlantic Canada. You'll stay overnight in L'Anse au Clair.

L'Anse au Clair to Cow Head
Head back to Newfoundland today and visit Port au Choix National Historic Site to learn about the area's marine resources and its history as a crossroads for Indigenous and European cultures over 5500 years. Then continue to the community of Cow Head for a two-night stay.

Gros Morne National Park
Spend the day exploring Gros Morne National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site covering over 400,000 acres across the Long Range Mountains. Take a boat cruise on Bonne Bay with live commentary about the geological wonders and cultural history. You'll also see The Tablelands, a flat-topped mountain of rock that's normally found deep in the earth's mantle.

Cow Head to Port aux Basques
Travel to Deer Lake and visit the Newfoundland Insectarium with thousands of live and mounted insects, plus an indoor garden full of tropical butterflies. After that, head to Corner Brook to see the Railway Society of Newfoundland Museum and learn about the legendary railroad. Later you'll go to Port aux Basques to board an overnight ferry back to North Sydney.
