Overall, this was a great tour and we were able to see and experience so much within a relatively short timeframe. I particularly enjoyed the small-group atmosphere, as it gave us the opportunity to get to know each other better and meant that everyone was able to help and look out for one another throughout the trip. Kevin and Celine were great tour guides. They were friendly, helpful and always willing to assist with anything we needed, which made travelling between the different destinations much easier. The accommodation throughout the tour was good, and I particularly enjoyed the breakfasts in Beijing and Xi’an. There were many memorable experiences. The Great Wall was amazing and definitely one of the highlights of the trip. I also loved the rickshaw ride and especially enjoyed being able to make my own Terracotta Warrior in Xi’an and take it home as a souvenir. It was a fun and unique experience that made the visit even more memorable. There are a few things I would change. I found the afternoon visit to the Shanghai Museum quite boring and would have preferred the option of returning to the hotel and having some free time instead. For the Shanghai river cruise, I think the tour price should include the additional 100 yuan required to sit on a chair on the top deck, as this is the best place to enjoy the views. At the Great Wall, I would have preferred taking the ski lift rather than the cable car, as this would have reduced the amount of walking required and added another enjoyable experience to the day. I also would have preferred to see a traditional lion dance rather than the acrobat show. A lion dance would have felt like a more culturally distinctive experience and something I would have really enjoyed seeing while visiting China.Show more

I recently joined the 11-day China Tour with China Travel guide, visiting Beijing, Xi’an, Zhangjiajie and Shanghai. Overall, I had a wonderful time and came with many unforgettable memories. We started our journey in Beijing, and it was an amazing way to begin our adventure. Visiting Tiananmen Square, the Forbidden City, the Summer Palace and The Great Wall at Mutianyu was something I had looked forward to for a long time. Standing in these historic places was truly special. There was so much history and culture to take in, and I loved every moment of it. The first day was a little unorganized. One person in our group got lost, the instructions from the guide were not always clear. Thankfully, that was only at the beginning. From the second day onwards, everything ran much more smoothly, and we were able to relax and enjoy the journey. Every destination brought something different. Xi’an gave us wonderful glimpse in China’s fascinating ancient history. Zhangjiajie was absolutely breathtaking, with spectacular mountains and scenery that I will never forget. Then we finished in Shanghai, which was such a contrast with its modern buildings, bright lights and lively atmosphere. Despite the small hiccup at the beginning, I am very glad I chose this tour. I had a fantastic experience, met wonderful people and created memories that I will treasure for years to come. Special thanks to our guides in Xi’an and Zhangjiajie, Carol and Lucia.Show more
