- Day 1
Arrival in Paramaribo
You'll fly from your German airport through Amsterdam and arrive in Paramaribo by evening. Your local guide meets you at the airport and takes you to your hotel to settle in for the night.

- Day 2
Paramaribo and Peperpot National Park
After breakfast, you'll walk through Paramaribo's historic center, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, with a guide showing you the city's colonial architecture. From there, head to Peperpot National Park and check out the New Amsterdam Open Air Museum learning about the area's coffee and cocoa farming past. You'll walk the park trails and then take a sunset boat trip on the Commewijne River where you might see river dolphins, herons, and birds of prey.

Iwokrama Jungle Lodge
Fly to Iwokrama deep in the jungle via Georgetown. Once at the lodge, your guide takes you through the forest to see local plants and animals. After lunch, a guided jungle walk lets you observe different bird species. In the evening, you'll boat along the Essiquibo River searching for black caimans, pythons, and ospreys in the darkness.

- Day 4
Iwokrama Canopy Walkway and Jungle Activities
This is a physically demanding day. You'll cross the Iwokrama Canopy Walkway, a suspension bridge strung through the treetops over 30 meters high where birds are practically at eye level. Then comes the strenuous hike up Turtle Mountain, which rewards you with excellent summit views and chances to spot howler monkeys. The day ends at Fair View Amerindian Village where you learn about indigenous traditions and life in Guyana.

- Day 5
Kurapukari Rapids to Georgetown
You'll take a morning walk to Kurapukari rapids before heading to the airstrip around midday. Fly back to Georgetown, Guyana's capital, where you'll have the rest of the day to yourself.

- Day 6
Kaieteur Waterfalls
After a late breakfast, take a half-day trip to Kaieteur waterfalls where the Potaro River drops over a 200-meter cliff. At nearly 100 meters wide, this ranks among South America's largest waterfalls. You'll spend time taking in the view before flying back to Georgetown.

- Day 7
Georgetown City Tour
Explore Georgetown on a guided city tour through the capital's cultural areas. You'll walk through the historic 19th-century Stabroek Market, the Botanical Gardens, and check out the cathedral and important sites. See the Seawall, a 280-mile dam protecting this below-sea-level city from flooding. Later in the afternoon, drive to Victoria village for a mangrove boat tour on the Mahaica River where you'll spot wildlife like hoatzins. Fly back to Paramaribo in the late afternoon.

Jodensavanne and Berg en Dal
In the morning, visit Jodensavanne, a former Jewish settlement destroyed by fire in 1832 south of Paramaribo. The old synagogue site has recently been made accessible and has a UNESCO World Heritage application pending. Walk through multicultural markets sampling fresh tropical fruit. Afternoon brings a drive to Berg en Dal where you'll stay the night.

Anaula Jungle Resort
Travel to Anaula Nature Resort in Aurora, a jungle village in Suriname's interior. After you arrive, you'll have plenty of daylight left to explore the surrounding rainforest on your own. The resort offers options to relax by the water, take a swim, or walk nearby trails.

Anaula Jungle Activities
Start by paddling a traditional Korjaal canoe past several local villages, stopping to visit and meet the Maroon people—descendants of enslaved Africans who escaped from plantations. You'll learn about their culture and history. Later, a guided jungle walk takes you through forest where over 1,000 tree species cover 80% of untouched rainforest. Watch for colorful parrots and other wildlife. The day ends with a visit to the Moravian Church, an 18th-century structure from colonial times that's now tied to one of the world's largest religious movements.

You have free time at Anaula Nature Resort to choose your activities. Take a boat trip on the Atjoni River, swim in the water, or explore trails at your own pace and speed. By afternoon, you'll drive back to Berg-en-Dal for the night.

Blommenstein Reservoir to Paramaribo
Leave Berg-en-Dal in the morning and drive to Blommenstein reservoir. Explore this massive 1,560 km2 body of water—one of the planet's largest reservoirs, named after Dutch Willem van Blommestein—on a guided boat trip through the waterway. Afterward, continue driving back to Paramaribo, where you'll stay at the Eco Resort.

Albina to Kourou, French Guiana
Travel to Albina, a former seaside resort slowly rebuilding after civil war damage in the 1980s. Cross the Maroni River into French Guiana, an overseas department of France with right-hand traffic and euros as currency. Stop in Saint Laurent du Maroni to see the former prison where the famous convict Papillon was held. Drive through French Guiana to Kourou, known for its Space Center launch facility.

- Day 14
Space Center Kourou
Visit Kourou's Space Center, the European launch station for Ariane rockets with launches roughly every six weeks. You'll get a guided tour of the facilities and then visit the Space Museum learning about the universe, space travel, and satellite technology. Afternoon takes you to Cayenne, the capital of French Guiana, though you'll stay overnight back in Kourou.

- Day 15
Iles du Salut
Spend the full day on a catamaran to the Iles du Salut (Islands of Salvation), three volcanic islands near Kourou. Devil's Island, famous for its prison and the wrongly-accused officer Dreyfus case, stays off-limits due to dangerous conditions, but you'll visit Ile Royale and Ile Saint-Joseph, both former prison sites. Your guide shares historical stories throughout the excursion. You'll return ashore in the evening.

Indigenous Village and Kaw-Roura Wetlands
In the morning, explore an indigenous village near Cayenne. Then head about 90 kilometers southeast to the swamps of Kaw-Roura, the largest wetlands of their kind in France, also called the small Pantanal. These marshes host numerous animals including scarlet ibis, jaguar, and black caiman.

Cayenne to Europe
Take a city tour through Cayenne, the capital of French Guiana. After more than two weeks traveling through Suriname, Guyana, and French Guiana, it's time to head home. A transfer takes you from your hotel to the airport for an overnight flight back to Europe.
