This is an 8 day tour that starts and ends in Rome.

      Included in the tour is:

      • 7 Breakfast
      • 1 Lunch
      • 5 Dinner
      • Explore Tour Leader
      • Transportation to the listed activities
      • 7 nights accommodation

We've graded the walking on this tour as leisurely and moderate. You should have a basic level of fitness to take part.

As we explore Umbria's rural beauty, the pathways and routes can be uneven and times slippery. We recommend bringing comfortable walking shoes. It goes without saying that Rome is a bucket list destination. We'll have plenty of time to explore this iconic city, but you should be prepared for crowds and book in advance for more popular sites.

      Walking Information:
      Day 4: 10KM
      Day 5: 14KM
      Day 6: 8KM
      Day 7: 6KM

Walks on 4 days for between 2.5 to 6 hours. As 2 of the walks are graded Leisurely and 2 are graded Moderate, you need to be confident of your ability to manage a Moderate grade hike to enjoy this trip. We stay in a Hilltop town, the countryside here is undulating with total ascents over the course of the hikes of several hundred metres. See the walking summary in the day-to-day itinerary for greater detail. You will be walking on a mix of strade bianche, the compacted gravel roads typical of Umbria, as well as farm trails and mule tracks. The trails are generally good but can become slippery in wet weather and in hot weather there may be little in the way of shade.

      Accommodation notes
During this tour, we stay in hand-picked, premium accommodation.
In Rome, we stay at a four-star hotel that's centrally located. We generally use, the Dharma Luxury Hotel, a four-star, boutique hotel in the heart of the city. Located in a historic building, the hotel is tastefully furnished with comfortable, modern en-suite rooms - all with air conditioning and WiFi. The hotel also has a spa, restaurant and bar. For our first stop in Umbria we stay at the Relais Il Canalicchio, a charming hilltop resort and spa located in Umbria, surrounded by olive groves, vineyards, and lush countryside. The resort is part of a renovated medieval hamlet, from where you can enjoy far-reaching views of the Umbrian countryside. The hotel offers a range of facilities, including a swimming pool, spa and wellness centre, Wi-Fi, bar and restaurant. Rooms are equipped with air conditioning, Sky TV and a minibar. Our second hotel in Umbria is in Spoleto. We are delighted to stay at the San Luca Hotel, a welcoming retreat surrounded by rolling hills, historic architecture, and charming streets, the hotel provides the perfect base for exploring the beauty of Spoleto. The property offers a range of modern amenities, including a cozy bar, on-site restaurant, and comfortable lounge areas. Guests can enjoy rooms equipped with air conditioning, Wi-Fi, satellite TV, and a minibar.
