Your flight gets you into Hanoi, where a private guide meets you right at the airport. From there, it's a private car ride to your hotel, and your guide helps you get your luggage sorted and checked in so you can settle down after traveling.

Hanoi
After breakfast, head out with your guide to see Hanoi's main sites. You'll start at the Ho Chi Minh Complex to check out the Mausoleum and his former stilt-house residence, then move on to Hoa Lo Prison and the One Pillar Pagoda. Next comes the Temple of Literature, a quiet spot with real historical significance. Grab lunch before heading to the Museum of Ethnology, where you'll learn about Vietnam's 54 ethnic groups and their cultures. Later in the afternoon, take a cyclo ride through the Old Quarter's narrow streets and cramped alleyways, which gives you a different feel for how locals get around. Finish the evening watching the Vietnamese Water Puppets Show, a traditional performance that's worth seeing if you're interested in local arts.

Halong Bay Cruise
After breakfast, your private transfer takes you to Halong City (roughly 3 hours). In the afternoon you'll board a traditional junk and cruise past limestone islands and cave formations. Swimming, kayaking, or diving are available if you want to get in the water. Dinner and the sunset happen on board, so pack a light jacket for the evening.

Halong Bay - Hanoi - Da Nang
Start early with sunrise tai chi on deck. After that, you'll choose between kayaking or rowing to see the local water life around you. By 10:30 am, you're heading back to Hanoi, then flying to Da Nang where your guide transfers you to your hotel for the evening.

- Day 5
Ba Na Hills and Monkey Mountain
Your guide picks you up in Da Nang for the drive to Ba Na Hills. A 25-minute cable car ride takes you up for panoramic views, then you'll see the Golden Bridge, wine cellar, and Linh Ung Pagoda. Another cable car goes to the French Village area where you can walk through Tombstone Temple, Linh Phong Monastery, and Fairy Forest. Lunch happens at a local restaurant, and later you'll visit the Lady Buddha Statue on Monkey Mountain for more views. Then you're transferred to Hoi An for the night.

After that, head to Cam Thanh Coconut Village for buffalo riding and basket boat rowing through the channels. There's crabbing with rods and nets, then you'll learn to cook 4 vegetarian dishes that you'll eat for lunch.

Mekong Delta
Early morning departure to the Mekong Delta where you'll cruise the river and visit Dragon, Unicorn, Turtle, and Phoenix islands. Land on Unicorn Island to walk through villages and tropical orchards, plus tour a bee farm where they serve honey tea. At a coconut candy workshop you'll taste fresh candies and tropical fruits while listening to Southern music. Maeklong Railway Market, Damnern Saduak Market, and Grand Palace
Your guide picks you up and heads to Bang Wha train station to catch the local train at 10:10 am. First stop is Maeklong Railway Market where you'll explore food stalls and fresh seafood, trying seasonal fruits and local snacks. Then it's off by long tail boat to Damnoen Saduak floating market, where you can see Thai houses along the water and grab coconut pancakes or noodles. Late afternoon takes you to the Grand Palace to see the different palace buildings and the Emerald Buddha. The day ends at a hidden rooftop cafe catching the sunset with views of Wat Arun temple.

Ayutthaya and Chao Phraya River Cruise
A 1.5-hour drive takes you through Bangkok's rural areas to Ayutthaya History Park. You'll see Bang-Pa-In Summer Palace, a 17th-century building that blends Eastern and Western styles, located about 60 kilometers north of Bangkok. Explore the old ruins of Ayutthaya (Thailand's former capital for 417 years until 1767), which is now a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Walk around temples like Wat Yai Chaimongkol with its 28-meter reclining Buddha and Wat Mahathat where tree roots wrap around a Buddha head. Try the local snack Roti Sai Mai for a quick bite. Your guide takes you by speedboat from Boat Lagoon Marina to the Phi Phi Islands. First up is Bamboo Island with pristine white sand and green water for swimming. You'll snorkel near Yoong Island known for antler corals and colorful tropical fish. After a 30-minute cruise, Monkey Beach lets you see wild macaques in their natural habitat. A simple local buffet lunch happens at Koh Phi Phi Don, then you'll visit Viking Cave on the island's northeastern tip (famous for swifts' nests used in bird's nest soup).
