The best time to see Puffins is April to mid-August. In this tour there is no specific designated tour to see the Puffins.

The single supplement is very, very high compared to other company tours. Is there a way to eliminate the single supplement since the tour is not filled for my dates?

We are not able to waive the single supplement. This pricing is due to the cost of of the hotel rooms so unfortunately we cannot be flexible on this.

I am 81 and my wife is 80, We both walk with canes. We can walk up and down stairs but need railings, Is this tour suitable for people of our age and condition?

This tour is Low Intensity - Travelers can expect some light physical activities. You will be on a bus for a long time each day, and not all the hotels may have elevators. At every stop there will be the possibility to walk nearer to the sights but you should be able to see everything closer to the parking lots, most of these walkways have been made more accessible, but can always be slippery in rain. We have alot of travellers around the same age as you joining this tour, we in fact have just had people celebrating their 80th and 81st birthday while on the tour.

does this tour encounter the northern lights?

Our Journey Around Iceland Tour does not include a special Northern Lights sightseeing. But we do have a 5-Day Northern lights Hunt Tour that might be a better fit for you if the Northern Lights is what you are most interested in seeing.

We are traveling as a family of three, with our 7 year old son. We like this tour, but the reservation site is not letting me book 3 people to the same room. We would not like to split up into two rooms, because our child is only 7 years old. Is there a way to book this reservation for 3 people in a family room?

Triple rooms are by request due to the fact that not all of the hotels on the tour offer that. 2 hotels do have a triple room, 2 hotels have sofabed for 12 years and younger and one hotel does not offer a triple room or extra bed. So you would sadly need to sleep in 2 rooms at one hotel.

I have been travelling around Europe for 2 months now and have a 20kg medium-sized suitcase I need to take with me. Does the coach have bottom level luggage storage? Also, will all the hotels we stay in have lifts?

Yes, the bus does have bottom level luggage storage. Not all of the hotels have a lift, but there is always a staff member available who can help you out with your luggage.

The other spa we went to, Forest, was much nicer, more spa-like and seemed better organized and cleaner. The hotels were advertised as 5 star (and it’s possible these were five-star hotels in Iceland) but they did not seem like five star hotels — the rooms were tiny, and the beds were single. Arni provided a lot of great information about the country and culture. Arni's patience and good humor kept us going. My only wish was that we had a couple more days to explore the west. That said, it was a fantastic trip. A final note- I read Freya by Margaret Ann Thors while on the trip. The novel takes place Iceland in some of the places we visited. For seeing puffins, we recommend taking a dedicated day adventure from Reykjavík, as those are specifically focused on puffin viewing and usually offer the best chances to see them up close in season. On this adventure, we do drive past Dyrhólaey, but we do not make a stop there. The closest stop we make in that area is the famous black sand beach Reynisfjara, known for its dramatic basalt columns, powerful Atlantic waves, and incredible coastal scenery—it’s one of the real highlights of the South Coast.
