  Are there any opportunities for walking or short hikes at any of the locations or are we primarily in the van

    We are a scheduled group tour bus company. We don't offer hiking on our tours, although we give free time at the locations so you can explore at your own pace. The itineraries are flexible, and you'll get free time in the evenings.
    
    The stops range from 10-15 minutes to 2 h depending on tour timings, facilities available and itinerary for the day.

    For Extended Tours in the UK & Ireland:
    - Cancelling more than 21 days before the tour date incurs 0% charge.
    - Cancelling less than 21 days before the tour date incurs a 100% charge.
    - In the event of a 'no show,' the charge is 100% of the tour price.
    
    For Extended Tours in Europe:
    - Cancelling more than 42 days before the tour date incurs 0% charge.
    - Cancelling less than 42 days before the tour date incurs a 100% charge.

    would they be close in proximity? they are all couples so they can do the double rooms.
    If they choose not to go this route - how much is it to upgrade to the hotel option and would they all be in the same hotel?

    Yes, we would try to keep them as close as we can. You can view current tour prices clicking on the tour page and selecting the hotel option instead.
    
    Please note that we are not able to guarantee they would all be together even if they chose the hotel option, as that is subject to availability. We will try to keep them together, but we can't guarantee it.

  How do we know how much time is sitting in the bus and traveling vs getting out and walking around? How do we know how much free time we have in each location? Is there anyway to stop at St. Andrews Golf Course while we are on this tour?

    Generally speaking we try to stop every 1.5 hours or so. This can be anything from a short photo stop, to longer walks and at least 1.5 hours over lunch. On this tour there are several opportunities to have walks of 45 minutes or so, and in the case of Iona, you can either spend 3+ hours exploring the island, or if you would prefer, part of that time visiting the Isle of Staffa.
    
    I'm afraid this tour is focused on the Highlands, Inner Hebrides and Orkney, but will not be visiting St Andrews or Fife. Please note that we at Rabbie's do offer a one day tour to St Andrews from Edinburgh, although St Andrews is one of the few locations on our tours which is fairly easy to get to by public transport (in this case by bus).

    Tour radar shows there are 6 available spots but Rabbie's just told me that the tour is fully booked. I'm very disappointed that your site shows spots that are unavailable.

    Yes if you are travelling solo on this tour we will book you a single room and there is a single supplement. For the departure on 8th October, the rate would be £2780.63 for the Bed & Breakfast option, and £3519.63 for the Hotel option.

    There are no strict age restrictions, but the itinerary may include walking and uneven terrain, which should be considered for elderly travelers.
