  The entire tour was just a great and wonderful experience. The organisation of the tour was great and Sanjay was in contact with us every step of the way, ensuring everything is running smooth. The houseboat was a special experience and I would really like to do it again. All guides were most helpful and had interesting information to share, not only about the sights but also about India/Kerala in general. Our driver Haresh was also great, pointing out different options to do/see and especially getting us everywhere save.Show more

  Southern India that included visits to some of the region's most beautiful beaches and a unique houseboat experience. It was truly a memorable trip that left me with a deep appreciation for the natural beauty and cultural diversity of this part of the country. Our journey began in the bustling city of Chennai, where we were immediately immersed in the vibrant energy and rich history of South India. We visited iconic landmarks such as the Kapaleeshwarar Temple and the Marina Beach, the second longest urban beach in the world. The city's mix of modernity and tradition was evident in its bustling markets, ancient temples, and colonial-era buildings. From Chennai, we made our way to Mahabalipuram, a small coastal town known for its ancient rock-cut temples and stunning beaches. We spent a few days exploring the intricately carved monuments and relaxing on the golden sands of the beach. The highlight of our stay in Mahabalipuram was watching the sunset over the Bay of Bengal, a truly breathtaking sight. Next, we headed to Pondicherry, a former French colony that still retains its colonial charm. The quaint streets lined with French-style buildings, along with the serene beaches, made for a picturesque setting. We also had the chance to visit Auroville, an experimental township where people of different nationalities and cultures live together in harmony. The highlight of our trip was the houseboat experience in the backwaters of Kerala. We boarded a traditional houseboat and cruised through the tranquil backwaters, surrounded by lush greenery and local villages. It was a peaceful and unique experience, and we were able to witness the daily life of the locals living along the waterways. Our journey ended in Goa, a popular beach destination known for its laid-back vibe and beautiful beaches. We spent our days soaking up the sun on the pristine beaches, trying out water sports, and indulging in delicious seafood. It was an unforgettable journey that allowed me to experience the diverse culture, history, and natural beauty of this region. The tour started in the bustling city of Chennai, where I was immediately immersed in the vibrant atmosphere and rich history of the city. From there, we traveled to the quaint town of Mamallapuram, known for its ancient temples and rock-cut monuments. The beaches in this area were breathtaking, with pristine white sand and clear blue waters. I spent hours simply relaxing and taking in the stunning views. Next, we made our way to the famous city of Puducherry, a former French colony that still retains much of its colonial charm. The beaches here were quieter and more secluded, offering a peaceful respite from the hustle and bustle of city life. I especially enjoyed the French Quarter, with its colorful buildings and charming cafes. One of the highlights of the tour was the houseboat experience in the backwaters of Kerala. I had never stayed on a houseboat before, and it was a truly unique and memorable experience. The serene backwaters were like a different world, and I was able to see the daily life of the locals living along the waterways. The food served on the houseboat was also delicious, with a variety of traditional South Indian dishes.
