Itinerary
- Day 1
Hanoi
You'll land in Hanoi and spend your first day getting oriented to the city's rhythm. Walk around the tree-lined streets and take in the street life at your own pace this morning and afternoon. At 6pm, you'll meet your tour leader and the other travelers for the first time. Your leader will arrange an optional group dinner at a nearby restaurant if you're interested in joining.

Hanoi to Ha Long Bay
Start early for the four-hour drive to Ha Long Bay. Once there, you'll cruise among roughly 3,000 limestone peaks rising from the water and have seafood lunch on board. You'll stay overnight in twin-share cabins on the boat, so pack accordingly.

- Day 3
Ha Long Bay to Hanoi
Continue cruising Ha Long Bay this morning before heading back to port. The four-hour transfer to Hanoi takes up the middle of your day, leaving the afternoon and evening free. Wander through the Old Quarter's 36 Streets (each named after what they sell) or stroll around Hoan Kiem Lake if you want to explore. An optional water puppet performance is available if you're interested.

Hanoi to Da Nang to Hoi An
After breakfast, you'll head to Hanoi Airport for your flight to Da Nang. Once there, check out Marble Mountain's caves, which the Viet Cong used during the war, and take in the views over My Khe Beach and the countryside. From there, it's about an hour's transfer to Hoi An, where you'll be staying next.

- Day 5
Hoi An
Your walking tour of Hoi An this morning explores the original European trading port from the mid-16th century. You'll see wooden merchant houses and pagoda-style temples that blend Chinese, Japanese, Vietnamese, and European influences. Stop by the riverside market and browse for silk clothing. The afternoon is yours to explore on your own.

Hoi An to Da Nang to Ho Chi Minh City
Head to Da Nang Airport for your 1 hour 25 minute flight to Ho Chi Minh City, a bustling metropolis full of scooters, temples, and modern buildings. In the afternoon, your city tour covers the Saigon Central Post Office, Reunification Palace, and the War Remnants Museum with its photographic documentation of the Vietnam-American War.

Ho Chi Minh City to Cu Chi Tunnels
Travel north to the Cu Chi tunnels, a 150-mile underground network that the Viet Cong used during the war. You'll explore sections of the tunnels (some widened for visitors, though parts remain tight). After returning to Ho Chi Minh City in the afternoon, the rest of your day is free for whatever you want to do.

Ho Chi Minh City to Siem Reap
You'll say goodbye to Vietnam and head to Ho Chi Minh City Airport for your 1 hour 15 minute flight to Siem Reap, Cambodia. Your Cambodian tour leader meets you upon arrival and transfers you to your hotel. From there, the day is yours to explore Siem Reap's vibrant atmosphere at your own speed.

Siem Reap
Rise early to catch the Angkor Wat sunrise and then explore the temples of Angkor Thom, including the Bayon with its 54 intricately carved towers. Later, visit Ta Prohm, a UNESCO site still largely covered in vegetation as it was when rediscovered in the 1870s and famous with photographers.

- Day 10
Siem Reap to Phnom Penh
Your approximately seven-hour road journey to Phnom Penh includes stops to stretch and grab lunch along the way. You'll visit the Santuk Silk Farm, a Fairtrade organization supporting rural employment. You arrive in Phnom Penh late afternoon, and an optional sunset cruise on the Mekong River is available if you want to join.

- Day 11
Phnom Penh
This morning, you'll visit two important historical sites. Tour the Genocide Museum (the former Khmer Rouge prison S-21 or Tuol Sleng), then travel 9 miles out of town to the Killing Fields, a mass grave and execution site. In the afternoon, see the Royal Palace and its Silver Pagoda, which shows off Phnom Penh's French colonial architecture.
