Definitely think Ninh Binh needs another night if the tour can be extended to a day trip. Really struggled with how much free time we had most afternoons as I did the day Philippines and the day total Asia which didn’t leave much time for relaxation. To then move to a more relaxed slower pace felt like we weren’t getting great value for money in comparison (although the transport and accommodation were the best of all the tours). Booking a tour allowed me to not worry about anything and I found the included activities to be all great! Especially enjoyed having nights in one place (Hoi An). I enjoyed the free time we were given in the afternoons as Kevin gave us good recommendations on activities and places to eat. If I didn’t make good friends on the tour then maybe I wouldn’t have enjoyed the free time as much but everyone was so lovely and welcoming. We were always together even when we didn’t have to be. An extra night in Ninh Binh would have been great to explore the area more. I wish there had been more activities included in the trip so that we could have fully experienced Vietnam. I loved Ho Chi Minh city, and the bike tours we did. I loved the time spent in Ninh Binh, and in Hoi An. The time on the boat in Ha Long Bay was also spectacular, the sunset views were the best.
