- Day 1
Arrival in San Jose
Land at Juan Santamaria International Airport where your driver meets you for the transfer to your hotel. After settling in, you'll have the rest of the day to either relax at the hotel or check out nearby spots like the Central Market and Central Park if you're not too tired from traveling.

San Jose to La Fortuna
Head out early with your English-speaking driver guide toward La Fortuna, covering about 150 kilometers over roughly 3 hours. You'll stop at Doka Coffee Plantation to see how coffee gets produced, then continue to La Paz Waterfall Gardens before arriving at your La Fortuna hotel for the night.

La Fortuna
Start the morning walking through the canopy on the hanging bridges at Mistico Arenal Hanging Bridge Park, watching for birds and wildlife. Later you'll head to La Fortuna Waterfall and grab lunch at an organic farm. After that, spend the afternoon exploring Arenal Volcano National Park, hiking the Arenal 1968 Trail, checking out Lake Arenal, and finishing with a soak in the hot springs at Tabacon.

La Fortuna to Monteverde
Travel to Monteverde via jeep-boat-jeep combination, taking about 3 hours and covering 60 kilometers. You'll start with a jeep ride to the port on Arenal Lake, cross the water by boat, then continue by jeep to Monteverde. After checking in, the rest of your day is open for exploring on your own.

Landmarks Arenal Lake - Day 5
Monteverde
After breakfast, spend 4 hours on a guided hike through the forest looking for monkeys, sloths, and other wildlife you might spot. You'll have a free afternoon to do as you like, then at dusk head out to watch the sunset followed by a night tour searching for nocturnal animals and listening to their calls. Two-toed sloths and kinkajous are often spotted on these evening trips.

Manuel Antonio
