  This tour mentions adding peninsula/beach adventure at the end. Is that something I can book with this trip, or something you can help me coordinate if I book this trip?

    Correct - this tour is a part of our Roamies hostels travel style, which is only available for travellers between the ages of 18 - 35 to book onto. Our other travel styles, such as Classic, Active, National Geographic Journeys, etc., do not have any age restrictions.

    A great alternative I would recommend is Costa Rica Quest (9 days), which has available departures in 29 August 2026. This tour includes visits to Arenal Volcano, Monteverde Cloud Forest, and Manuel Antonio National Park, with plenty of opportunities to enjoy adventure activities such as ziplining, waterfall rappelling (canyoning), white-water rafting, hanging bridges, and relaxing in hot springs (all optional). The itinerary also includes time at the beach, where you may be able to join an optional catamaran cruise with snorkeling. I think this is the closest Classic tour to Costa Rica: Volcanoes, Cloud Forests & Zip-Lines while fitting within your preferred 9-day timeframe.

  I just turned 36 in February, and I would like to know what makes this trip only age appropriate for 18-35? Do you offer trips that are reasonable price for those over 35+?

    This specific trip is part of our 18–35s travel style, which is strictly available for travellers aged 18 to 35 at the time of travel.
    
    The reason this trip has the 18–35 age range is mainly due to the style of travel, pace, and accommodation setup. These tours are designed to be very fast-paced and social, with only a few included activities, some local or public transportation, and a more basic accommodation style. This can include multi-share hostel rooms, often with 4–6 travellers per room, which tends to appeal more to that age group and travel style.
    
    That said, we do have a very similar option available in our 18–39s travel style, which is an 8-day itinerary and could be a great alternative for you while still offering a fun social group experience at a reasonable price point.

    Can you modify the trip for me to spend time in the mountains and less time at the beach? I'm from Florida, so the ocean isn't something I want to see in Costa Rica. I would like to see the volcanoes if possible within 5 days. Please let me know how you can modify this itinerary for me.

    Unfortunately the departure for the 02nd is fully sold out, however there is a possibility you could join for the departure on the 06th February, however we would need to request space and in order to do this we would require full payment, in the event that we could not get you confirmed it would be fully refundable.

    Car sickness can be tricky on itineraries in Costa Rica as the only way to get around is via car/bus. Are you okay if you sit at the front of the bus?

  I have a group of 7 passengers looking into a tour. They already have flights, and are arriving January 29 and returning February 3. Would be possible for you to adjust the dates for this group? Or make a small tour just for them?

    No, we cannot change the tour dates. If you have 8 travellers or more, you can see about creating a private departure with out Private Groups department. Otherwise, they will need to create a booking for 7 travellers based on this requested tour departure date of Jan 27th - Feb 1st. This will greatly depend on the traveller sexes and the rooming style they request to book for. We currently have 9 spots to request for shared bathroom - Female-only dorm, 3 spots to request for shared bathroom - Double/Twin, and 10 spots to request for shared bathroom - Mixed gender dorm.

    The Costa Rica tour is designed for travellers aged 18-35 years old. Travellers must be 35 years old or younger (but at least 18 years old) as of Day 1 of the departure date of the tour. Children 12+ who can take a regular tour will pay the same rate as an adult. On a family style tour children under the age of 12 pay a lower rate.

    Though we do not have photographs to share for the female-only dorms of the accommodations used for this tour, you may independently research the usually used accommodations listed below: Costa Rica Backpackers in San Jose, To de determined accommodation in La Fortuna, Hotel Quetzal Inn Monteverde in Monteverde.
