Itinerary
- Day 1
Yerevan
You'll arrive at Zvartnots International Airport where your tour guide will be waiting to meet you. From there, it's a transfer to your hotel in Yerevan, giving you time to settle in and get oriented to the city.
- Day 2
Yerevan
This morning you'll drive through central Yerevan to see the main landmarks - Republic Square, the Opera House, the Cascade Monument, and Mother Armenia Monument. After that, head to Matenadaran, the world's largest research institute of ancient Armenian manuscripts, where you can walk through their collection. Grab lunch at a traditional Armenian restaurant to try some local food.

Yerevan - Echmiadzin - Zvartnots
Travel to Echmiadzin to visit St. Hripsime Church and the Echmiadzin Mother Cathedral, one of the oldest churches in the world and the Holy See of the Armenian Apostolic Church. On the way back to Yerevan, stop at the ruins of Zvartnots Cathedral. Later in the day, spend some free time at Vernissage market picking through local arts and crafts.

Yerevan - Khor Virap - Noravank - Areni - Jermuk
Head south through Armenia to see medieval monasteries and the landscape. Start at Khor Virap Monastery where you get views of Mount Ararat, then continue to Noravank, which sits among brick-red cliffs. Next, tour the Areni-1 cave complex, home to the world's oldest winery dating back 6100 years, and try some wine at a local winery. By evening, drive to Jermuk Spa Town.

Jermuk - Tatev - Karahunj
Start the day exploring Jermuk's mineral water hot springs and waterfall. Then ride the world's longest aerial tramway to reach Tatev, a medieval monastic complex with great views. After lunch, visit Karahunj, the Armenian Stonehenge, which is a 7500-year-old observatory, before heading back to Jermuk.

- Day 6
Jermuk - Vardenyats - Noratus - Lake Sevan - Dilijan
Drive through Vardenyats Mountain Pass and stop at the Orbelian Caravanserai, a historical site on the Great Silk Road. Later, see Noratus, which has the world's largest collection of Armenian cross-stones. Head to Lake Sevan National Park, the world's second-largest highest lake, where you can optionally visit the 9th-century Sevanavank Monastery. Finish up in Dilijan Spa Town.

- Day 7
Dilijan - Haghartsin - Goshavank - Tsakhakadzor - Yerevan
After breakfast, check out Dilijan, a resort town sometimes called Armenia's little Switzerland. Walk through Haghartsin monastery in the forest, then move on to Goshavank, which dates to the 12th and 13th centuries. Stop at Tsakhakadzor, Armenia's largest ski resort, before the drive back to Yerevan.

Yerevan - Garni - Geghard - Garni Gorge
See Garni Fortress and the Temple of the Sun, the only Hellenistic temple still standing in the Caucasus. Then visit Geghard Monastery, a UNESCO rock-cut medieval site. Have lunch at a local house in Garni village, take part in a master class for traditional Armenian bread baking, and finish with a walk through Garni Gorge to see the distinctive basalt rock formations.

Yerevan - Mount Aragats - Amberd Castle - Saghmosavak
Head toward Mount Aragats, Armenia's highest peak and the tallest in the Trans-Caucasus. Visit Amberd Castle at 2300m/7545 feet elevation where you'll have views of snow-covered peaks and grasslands. Stop for photos at high-mountain Yezidi camps, see the Armenian Letters park, and explore Saghmosavak Monastery, which sits on the edge of Kasakh Canyon.
