- Day 1
Arrival in Madrid
You'll arrive at Madrid airport and get transferred to your hotel. Your tour director will meet you along with the other travelers, and then you'll head out for a Welcome Tapas Dinner at a local restaurant this evening.

- Day 2
Madrid City Tour
After breakfast at the hotel, you'll take a guided city tour that covers historic Madrid including Barrio de la Morerría, the Royal Palace, and Gran Vía. During the tour you'll taste chocolate with churros. The afternoon is yours to walk around the city on your own.

Madrid to Porto via Salamanca
Following breakfast, you'll drive toward Salamanca and have free time to wander this UNESCO World Heritage university city. Then you'll head across the Portuguese border to Porto, an old UNESCO-listed town that sits on the Douro River estuary.

- Day 4
Porto Sightseeing & Wine Tasting
Breakfast comes first at the hotel, followed by a guided tour of Porto where you'll see the Cathedral, Stock Exchange building, and Santa Clara church. Later you'll take a Douro River cruise and visit the Port Wine Cellars for wine tasting. Your evening is free, though an optional fado show and dinner with other travelers is available.

- Day 5
Aveiro & Coimbra
After breakfast, you'll travel to Aveiro, called 'The Venice of Portugal' because of its canals. You'll ride in a traditional colorful moliceiro boat before heading to Coimbra. A local guide will then take you through this historic university city with its medieval streets and riverside character.

- Day 6
Batalha Monastery, Nazaré & Lisbon
Breakfast at the hotel, then you'll head to Batalha Monastery, a UNESCO World Heritage Gothic and Manueline structure. From there, you'll stop in the fishing town of Nazaré with free time to look around. Later you'll travel to Lisbon, cross the Tagus River to Cacilhas, and have a seafood dinner at a local restaurant.

- Day 7
Lisbon City Tour
Following breakfast, you'll take a morning sightseeing tour of ancient Lisbon. You'll drive through major squares and avenues including Belem Tower, Jeronimos Monastery, Monument to the Discoverers, Marquis of Pombal Square, and Liberty Avenue. The afternoon is free to check out the Alfama Quarter with its narrow streets, old buildings, genuine taverns, and the castle.

- Day 8
Merida & Return to Madrid
After breakfast at the hotel, you'll head to Merida, a UNESCO World Heritage Site with well-preserved Roman ruins like the Roman Theatre and Amphitheatre. You'll explore the historical sites before continuing back to Madrid. Later this evening you'll join the other travelers for a farewell dinner.
