Asked on December 22nd, 2025Can we arrange all 5 nights to be outside the city with an Aurora tour? Is there an additional cost?
Arctic Range AdventureOperator•Written December 2025Yes, absolutely—you may add as many hotel nights and Aurora Viewing tours as you wish. We can include them in your reservation, and you would only need to confirm once everything is added.

Asked on November 1st, 2025Could you kindly let us know the best time for travelers to view the Aurora Borealis?
Arctic Range AdventureOperator•Written November 2025In northern regions like the Yukon, the best time to view the aurora is from late August to mid-April. During the summer months the night skies are not dark enough to see the aurora borealis even at times when the solar wind activity is strong. Unfortunately, it is not possible to predict auroral activity very far in advance. As solar activity increases and decreases in 11 year cycles, the forecast is less predictable, the further away from maximum activity we are. Forecasts usually are limited to a few days based on current observations of solar flares and sunspots.

Traveler•Written September 2024what if my arrival time is outside your pickup timings? are there taxis/ubers and how much would they cost to the sternwheeler hotel?
Arctic Range AdventureOperator•Written September 2024Airport Arrival Transfers in Whitehorse (10:00 am to 8:30 pm). If arriving on a later flight, transfer yourself to accommodation. Usually a free shuttle from airport to downtown hotels, first come first serve, or take a taxi which takes about 15 minutes.

Asked on April 7th, 2024Would I need to book to an extra nights accommodation before the trip?
Arctic Range AdventureOperator•Written April 2024Yes, it is possible and recommended to book a Previous night before the start of the program. We do not offer late pick up, you would have to coordinate your own transportation to the hotel/accommodation. There is a shuttle from the airport to Downtown that is regularly outside on every arrival. If it becomes full or it is not at that time, the best way would also be taking a taxi.

Traveler•Written April 2024Is it possible to get picked up at 23.50 either the day before the tour, or on the first day of the tour?
Arctic Range AdventureOperator•Written April 2024Unfortunately, we do not offer pick ups after 11:30 pm, you would have to coordinate your own transportation to the hotel/accommodation. There is a shuttle from the airport to Downtown that is regularly outside on every arrival. If it becomes full or it is not at that time, the best way would also be taking a taxi. We'd then meet you the next morning for an orientation.
