Is it possible to share a room with another single traveler? Also, are all activities on schedule e.g. ice fishing, hot springs.

    Single supplement

    • Arctic Range AdventureOperatorWritten January 2026

Unfortunately, this option is not available for single travelers. A single supplement will apply at an additional cost.

    • O

      Olga

      TravelerWritten January 2026

When would the ice fishing tour best available? This was an activity I really wanted to do. Also, at this timen, do you not have others signed up thus the flybover tour would run?

    • Arctic Range AdventureOperatorWritten January 2026

At the moment, this tour is only available on February 9th, however, that day would be your arrival day and usually the day tours start at 1:00 pm. Based on the schedule and flight arrival, you would not be able to join the tour. We would be able to open the tour on other dates, if we have more participants signed up for the dates that you are interested in the package, the confirmation of the tour would depend of the minimum participants being met and the weather conditions being optimal. At the moment, we do not have other participants signed up for the sightseeing flight.

    • O

      Olga

      TravelerWritten January 2026

When looking at the itinerary, it appears as Day 2 is the sightseeing and Day 4 icefishing so I thought I would be automatically getting same on respective days. It makes the trip interesting! However, if these may not be available or I'd have to pay extra, I am now hesitant as the tour is already pricey and if some of the activities mentioned are not possible...Do you have dates where all activites as described are guaranteed.

    • Arctic Range AdventureOperatorWritten January 2026

Yes, usually the itinerary is as described on the details for the program, however, the itinerary may be subject to change in the order of dates and activities in order to fulfill all the tours offered in the program. For example, if the flight is available on day 3 and we already have people signed up on that day, we will assign that corresponding tour on that date so you can join. We have a tour available starting on Februrary 15th, and March 16th

    • O

      Olga

      TravelerWritten January 2026

I don't mind activities being switched around. I just want to ensure that I am able to experience all the activities stated but with no extra cost. If I am to understand correctly, a Feb 9 start will not have all activities in particular ice fishing and a fly over but Feb 15 or March will.

    • Arctic Range AdventureOperatorWritten January 2026

We understand that this package is of your interest and you would like to do all the listed activities. As of now, the package starting on February 9th, does not have all of the tours confirmed, we do not have people signed up for all of the tours. On the program starting on February 15th we are able to accommodate all the activities.

    Asked on December 22nd, 2025

Can we arrange all 5 nights to be outside the city with an Aurora tour? Is there an additional cost?

    Tour Details
    • Arctic Range AdventureOperatorWritten December 2025

Yes, absolutely—you may add as many hotel nights and Aurora Viewing tours as you wish. We can include them in your reservation, and you would only need to confirm once everything is added.

  • L

    Liam

    Asked on November 1st, 2025

Could you kindly let us know the best time for travelers to view the Aurora Borealis?

    Tour Details
    • Arctic Range AdventureOperatorWritten November 2025

In northern regions like the Yukon, the best time to view the aurora is from late August to mid-April. During the summer months the night skies are not dark enough to see the aurora borealis even at times when the solar wind activity is strong. Unfortunately, it is not possible to predict auroral activity very far in advance. As solar activity increases and decreases in 11 year cycles, the forecast is less predictable, the further away from maximum activity we are. Forecasts usually are limited to a few days based on current observations of solar flares and sunspots.

what if my arrival time is outside your pickup timings? are there taxis/ubers and how much would they cost to the sternwheeler hotel?

    • Arctic Range AdventureOperatorWritten September 2024

Airport Arrival Transfers in Whitehorse (10:00 am to 8:30 pm). If arriving on a later flight, transfer yourself to accommodation. Usually a free shuttle from airport to downtown hotels, first come first serve, or take a taxi which takes about 15 minutes.

    Asked on April 7th, 2024

Would I need to book to an extra nights accommodation before the trip?

    Accommodation
    • Arctic Range AdventureOperatorWritten April 2024

Yes, it is possible and recommended to book a Previous night before the start of the program. We do not offer late pick up, you would have to coordinate your own transportation to the hotel/accommodation. There is a shuttle from the airport to Downtown that is regularly outside on every arrival. If it becomes full or it is not at that time, the best way would also be taking a taxi.

      Denise

Is it possible to get picked up at 23.50 either the day before the tour, or on the first day of the tour?

    • Arctic Range AdventureOperatorWritten April 2024

Unfortunately, we do not offer pick ups after 11:30 pm, you would have to coordinate your own transportation to the hotel/accommodation. There is a shuttle from the airport to Downtown that is regularly outside on every arrival. If it becomes full or it is not at that time, the best way would also be taking a taxi. We'd then meet you the next morning for an orientation.

Do you have any openings on Sunday March 20th? Would there be much difference in seeing the Northern Lights between March 6th and March 20th?

    • Arctic Range AdventureOperatorWritten February 2022

We don't do flight bookings, please contact TourRadar for assistance. There are two airlines from Vancouver to Whitehorse: Air Canada and Air North (better service and more reliable). Winter rental clothing can be added to the package and will be ready upon arrival. You can pay with any Credit Card or cash (CAD or USD) in Whitehorse.

We can confirm availability for departure on March 20th. The Northern Lights can be seen in the Yukon until mid April.
