Unfortunately the Kokoda Track is closed between December and March the earliest date we have 16-26 March.

What length Kokoda Turks do you offer? What other Active holidays do you offer?

We have two trips for Kokoda the 11 day trek which is 9m days on the actual trail and the 8 day trip which is 6 days on the trail. We offer quite a few treks in Papua New Guinea including Mt Giluwe and Mt Wilhelm and sea kayaking in the Tigak Sea. We also run trips in Europe, Nepal, Peru etc. The Kokoda Track trek is a rugged trip over the Owne Stanley Ranges and retraces the footsteps of Australian and Japanese military as they fought each other there in 1942.

What physical demands should Shannon expect during the tour? Given his history with knee surgery, are there any specific recommendations or limits you would suggest? What options or facilities are available if he encounters any issues during the tour?

Without knowing your full history this should not be an issue. Strengthening the knee muscles including stabilisers as well as hips and core will put you in a good situation to complete the Track. If for whatever reason you can't complete the journey we can evacuate you via helicopter or fixed wing quite easily. The problem is your insurance. If you need to be evacuated for knee issue the insurer may not pay for this you need to discuss with them.

Which is correct? The Kokoda trek in April 2024 has different prices in different places

Our price for the 15-25 April trip is AUD$4600. I would suggest extending the trip by 1 night for an extra AUD$180 to be in Port Moresby for ANZAC Day

I'm nearly 65. Am I too old for this trip? I've trekked in Nepal and hiked in Patagonia. I had two new knees a few years ago which has made me ten years younger. I did my Patagonia trip shortly after the new knees. So, I think I'm fit but you're the experts.

65 is not too old to do Kokoda. Our demographic is 55 -65 male-female 50/50. There are still spots open on the 15 April trip. This is the ANZAC period so of course its a great time to trek Kokoda.

We plan a trip to Papua New Guinea and I was wondering if you can help us to organize whole journey. My expectations are to spend 7-10 days in Papua New Guinea - We will arrive to Port Moresby Around 14. of September, can you please give me some proposals how can we spend that time with you?

We are primarily a trekking company so there are two trips which may interest you. The first is Mt Wilhelm the highest mountain in PNG at over 4500 meters and the other is the highest volcano in Oceania Mt Giluwe at over 4000 meters. Both are about 7 days long Port Moresby to Port Moresby. Are these the types of trips you may be interested in? The issue is as a single trekker the price will be quite high. For example Mt Wilhelm would be AUD$5900 ex Port Moresby and Mt Giluwe would be AUD$5800

I recently completed the Kokoda Trek with No Roads Expeditions and I cannot speak highly enough of the experience. From the outset, their professionalism, excellent communication, and thorough pre-trip planning gave us complete confidence. We had originally been booked with another tour operator who loudly claimed to be the best, but they let us down with little to no communication and ultimately cancelled our trip just weeks before departure. Thankfully, we found No Roads — and they were absolutely outstanding. A huge thank you to Peter and Chris, who were always available and quick to respond to any questions. Their support and flexibility made all the difference in getting us back on track. Our trek was led by Andrew, who was not only a great guide but also quite the historian — his knowledge really brought the significance of the trail to life. And the Papuan crew, both in Port Moresby and especially those who trekked with us, were simply wonderful humans. Their kindness, tireless work ethic, and care were deeply appreciated. They kept us safe, well fed, and supported us every step of the way — which was no small feat, given how physically demanding and technically challenging the terrain is. On Kokoda, you quite literally need to concentrate on every step, and they helped us manage it with strength and grace. If you’re considering the Kokoda Track or any other adventure, I can’t recommend No Roads Expeditions highly enough.Show more

This is my 3rd Kokoda trek within 10 years with No Roads and my 7th adventure holiday with them. I chose the Fast Trek Aus Led tour this time due to time constraints and also because I wanted to challenge myself that bit harder. So why do I keep coming back to No Roads? Simple - they are professional, easy to deal with and their treks are also a lot of fun. I enjoyed everything about this trip. In total I was away for 7 days (5 of the track with a day either side in POM). The trip was led by Peter Miller and supported by a group of hard working porters. The meals on the track are freshly prepared by the crew cook and there is lots of surprises along the way. Before you arrive a travel pack of goodies including hydrolyte, lollies, soups, snacks and shirts are sent out along with a detailed list of things to take. I’d recommend the fast trek for anyone who has an above average level of fitness. Kokoda is an amazing trek - full of history and emotion. I love it and I will definitely be back. CaylanShow more

This was my third Kokoda trek with No Roads and my 7th adventure holiday in total with them. Why do I keep coming back? Simply - their tours are organised, professionally run and challenging. This time I completed the fast trek Aus Led tour - 7 days in total from arrival to departure - 5 days on the track. I would highly recommend this trek for someone with above average fitness who wanted to push themselves. Jack, Terrance and the PNG crew are welcoming, friendly and nothing is too much trouble for them. You are well catered for on the trip - plenty of fresh food and surprises along the way. My son and l just finished our Kokoda Trek with No Roads , what an amazing experience. We were so fortunate to share our trek with Kaelene an inspirational young man and our guide Peter Miller who was so knowledgeable and a great support to us all. No Roads expeditions are first class , the support we received from my initial enquiry, to the bookings of flights , insurance and the trek itself is second to none, The staff were a pleasure to deal with and nothing was to much trouble. Before leaving l knew the we were in good hands . As for the experience on the trek itself, it was so well organised, the porters were amazing, the food was excellent. On a personal note lm honoured and humbled to have walked on the path of our extraordinary Aussie Diggers, truly amazing men that endured so much. What a fabulous holiday. I had heard very good things about Sri Lanka and it exceeded my expectations. Our tour was well thought out and planned by Stewart and our local guide Amila. We were kept well informed and entertained as we travelled through this amazing country in our immaculate air-conditioned bus. Our wonderful driver Rawonga and his assistant Chanaka kept us safe and assisted on and off the bus. The accomodation was a great mixture of quirky local and fabulous jaw dropping luxury. The food was amazing and varied and I enjoyed eating local food but was able to get international cuisine when I needed a break. We managed to cover some of the most iconic sites in Sri Lanka in our 16 day journey. The tour was a great combination of cultural sites, beautiful outdoor scenery and relaxing beach side stopovers which gave a great balance and was paced very well to accomodate any level of fitness. Lastly, I can't understate how wonderfully joyous and friendly the people were. Their delight in the little things in life made this holiday so special and made me question what is important in life. They have so little but give so much.Show more

They worked tirelessly to ensure the group experienced to the max all the highlights Sri Lanka offers. The accommodation was a pleasant surprise and way exceeded expectations. Food, wow. The abundant offerings at breakfast and dinner covered western and local dishes. We have travelled to many countries and this tour is at the top of our list. A mixture of adventure, culture and R&R. Just finished trekking Kokoda last Wednesday An exceptional experience superbly led by Robyn and her group of Porters . Would recommend the trip to everyone young and old. Every attention to our care, meals , health, wellbeing and fitness was first class. Meeting and travelling thru the villages was a privilege and to have Robyn share her knowledge and feelings for our Aussie soldiers fighting the Japanese on the Kokoda Track was a privilege. We are a lucky country but could learn a few lessons from these villagers.Show more

I recently trekked Kokoda with my daughter and a friend. After a lot of research I decided to go with No Roads. It turned out to be a very smart decision. Their advice in preparing for the trek was outstanding and as this was my 1st trek I was very inexperienced. Our guide Justin was simply amazing his knowledge on trekking and the history of Kokoda was truly remarkable. The porters were all very kind and caring I would recommend this company to anyone thinking of doing Kokoda. If you are thinking of trekking Kokoda, do it.
