  There was a lovely sense of variety throughout the entire journey. The historical side of Sri Lanka came alive in Anuradhapura and Polonnaruwa, with Mihintale adding another peaceful cultural stop. Sigiriya was spectacular and definitely worth seeing in person. Kandy offered a more lively cultural experience, followed by the beautiful transition into Nuwara Eliya’s tea country. Ella was probably the most scenic section, with lush green mountains and impressive views. The route toward Tissamaharama and Kataragama introduced a different side of the island, with more wildlife and natural scenery. Finishing around Mirissa was perfect for enjoying the coastal atmosphere. Having a dedicated driver and vehicle made such a varied itinerary far more comfortable. The accommodation and half-board meals were practical and convenient. A special mention goes to Prasanna, who brought a calm and genuinely pleasant energy to the journey. His thoughtful approach, good sense of timing, and easygoing nature made long drives feel effortless and added a personal touch to the whole experience.   Such a rewarding trip through Sri Lanka. The combination of ancient ruins, cultural sites, mountain scenery, wildlife and beaches made the eight days feel full without becoming boring. Anuradhapura, Mihintale and Polonnaruwa were especially interesting for history lovers, while Sigiriya was simply spectacular. Kandy added beautiful cultural experiences before the route climbed toward Nuwara Eliya and Ella. The landscapes there were completely different from the northern and central areas. Kataragama and Tissamaharama brought more nature and wildlife, followed by the relaxed coastal atmosphere around Mirissa. A private driver and comfortable vehicle made the route much easier.
