  The Tour guides in Cairo and Aswan were excellent as were all the tours. The accommodation was terrible, Cairo had excellent 4-star accommodation. Aswan was 2-star at best, the toilet overflowed and they cleaned it up only after asking them twice to come. They did not change the bath mat that was saturated. The safe did not work, the curtains did not close completely. They had paper cups to drink out of, and the tea and coffee sachets just thrown on a very tatting looking trolley. The food was of a very poor standard. We asked to stay for dinner and were told the price was 500 pounds each, then charged 600 each and when I questioned this they said they made a mistake! The cruise was excellent, and they upgraded us after the horrible experience at the Citymax hotel. Sharmel Sheik accommodation was awful, it was rated 4 stars but again 2 stars at best, the bathroom was disgusting and old and the shower was so bad we did not want to use it. There was no Wi-Fi in the rooms, and the food was okay, but it was often cold and cheap mass-produced rubbish. The tour guide didn't even come to see us, we cancelled the Sinai trip as we both had terrible nights of sleep on a very uncomfortable bed and ended up with stiff necks and unable to take on the challenge of walking up a mountain. Loud music was played most of the day and night so not very relaxing.

  Our guide was exceptional—knowledgeable and a great storyteller, which helped us truly understand and appreciate what we were seeing. Bassem was so much fun and played a huge role in making the trip a great success.

  Excellent service all around. The staff and tour guides went out of their way to accommodate us. Smoking in the hotel and on ship by staff or guests is a turn-off and shouldn’t be tolerated.
