Is there anything in particular I should be aware of in general, especially regarding visas, etc.?

    • Feel Free TravelOperatorWritten March 2026

Currently on this date we've got ages from early 20s to Mid 30s with the average being around late 20s. Most are from the UK with others from the US & Germany too :)

    • Feel Free TravelOperatorWritten March 2026

We do include an airport pick up on Day 1 anytime you arrive which will take you straight to the accommodation where we start the trip.

    • Feel Free TravelOperatorWritten March 2026

We don't book post-tour accommodation for when the trip finishes, however this is super easy to do yourself on sites such as booking.com.

    • Feel Free TravelOperatorWritten March 2026

After booking the trip, you'll want to book your flights to and from Thailand, arrange yourself some travel insurance and then check if you require a visa, this is something we're unable to offer any "Official" advice on, however Thailand is an easy country to visit with a simple Visa on Arrival process but we always recommend checking you're eligibility for this. You'll also need to apply for an 'Entry Form' before arriving into Thailand, super easy to do so don't worry :)

    • T

      Tyler

      TravelerWritten March 2026

Is there any time limit for the arriving date that I have to be aware of? E.g. no flights arriving later than 5pm because of the first evening together?

    • T

      Tyler

      TravelerWritten March 2026

Is it possible to travel with a suitcase or do I need a big travel/hiking backpack?

    • Feel Free TravelOperatorWritten March 2026

You can arrive anytime on Day 1 and we will pick you up, we typically recommend arriving around Midday as check in time is from 2pm and you'll head out early evening with the group for dinner & drinks. So if you did arrive late afternoon/evening the group would have likely already headed out.

    • Feel Free TravelOperatorWritten March 2026

When it comes to suitcase or backpack this is a very popular question and it really comes down to personal preference. Most people do prefer to travel with a backpack but we do get a fair few travellers that much prefer the idea of a suitcase. We suggest packing light and not going crazy with anything more than 20kg. You'll no doubt wish you left half of it at home otherwise ?

    • T

      Tyler

      TravelerWritten March 2026

When would the group leave for Dinner and Drinks on Day 1? My flight would land in BKK at 4:55pm. Is it already too late?

    • Feel Free TravelOperatorWritten March 2026

The group do typically head out at around 5pm, so the group would have headed out by the time you get to the hotel. Of course you could speak with your group leader to meet up that evening where the group are, but to be honest the trip really gets going in the morning on Day 2, so if you'd prefer to catch up on some sleep you could just meet everyone in the morning :)

I will be traveling with my husband, who is 6"7. Do we have an option for a King bed?

    Accommodation
    • Feel Free TravelOperatorWritten January 2026

We sadly don't have options for king beds in the accommodation where we stay. The rooms are standard twin or double beds. Rest assured, the co found of the company is actually of a similar height and he finds the accommodation comfortable :)

    Flights / Transfers
    Tour Details
    • Feel Free TravelOperatorWritten October 2025

This trip does start on the 5th January, however Day 1 is super chilled with just dinner & drinks in the evening and the trip really gets going in the morning on Day 2. We include an airport pick up anytime on Day 1 so arriving on the 5th at 11:35am is great and we would have an airport pick up waiting for you.

    • J

      Jenna

      TravelerWritten October 2025

Turns out we wouldn't arrive till the morning of Jan. 6th. Would that also work for meeting up with the tour group.

    • Feel Free TravelOperatorWritten October 2025

When it comes to arriving on Day 2, we usually don't recommend this as it would mean missing out on the welcome chat in the morning and the group will have already headed out for the day. Of course, you could meet back up with everyone later that day, but it's not something we typically advise just so you don't miss out on anything.

    Asked on August 31st, 2025

I'm interested in this but I'm slightly above the age stated but a few years (although I look much younger!) will this prevent me getting on?

    Age Range
    • Feel Free TravelOperatorWritten August 2025

We must remain faithful to our target audience and existing customer base. These customers are young students and gap year backpackers eager to join others on their first-ever solo adventure. It would be unfair for us to accept bookings from travellers outside of the 18-39 age range that we set for our groups.

  • T

    Theresa

    Asked on July 29th, 2025

I am 46, so just slightly outside of the age range. But, I really felt like this was the best tour for my interest and needs. I'm super active and adventurous and no one thinks I'm my age. Is there any way you could make an exception?

    • Feel Free TravelOperatorWritten July 2025

As much as we would love for you to join us, we must remain faithful to our target audience and existing customer base. These customers are young students and gap year backpackers eager to join others on their first-ever solo adventure. It would be unfair for us to accept bookings from travellers outside of the 18-39 age range that we set for our groups. I would suggest looking at companies like G Adventures & Intrepid. I know they have a much more flexible demographic than we do, and they offer very similar group trips.

    Price / Availability
    Tour Details
    • Feel Free TravelOperatorWritten May 2025

Can I start by checking, would it be the standard twin share accommodation you'd be looking to book or the private room upgrade option? The private room means you'd get your own room throughout the trip (Excluding the overnight train). This is an extra £600.

    Asked on May 22nd, 2025

    Flights / Transfers
    Transport
    • Feel Free TravelOperatorWritten May 2025

I can confirm that we include all transport while you're over in Thailand during the trip. There is 1 flight from the South up to Chiang Mai and this is booked by us. Of course as you mentioned, we don't include flights to and from Thailand and the trip starts in Bangkok and ends in Chiang Mai

  • G

    Gillian

    Asked on April 26th, 2025

How is accommodation exactly? Will I always share a hotel room with another person from the same gender? Or will there also be dorms with more than 2 persons in each room? Is there a possibility for private rooms (with extra charge of course)?

    Accommodation
    • Feel Free TravelOperatorWritten April 2025

We stay in guesthouse/hotel accommodation with 2 people per room. Most places have swimming pools, and if you'd prefer your own space, you can upgrade to a private room for an extra £600 on top of the tour price.

    • G

      Gillian

      TravelerWritten April 2025

So I have to pay in advance in order for me to have all private rooms? Not possible to pay there for a specific stay only? And also I wanted to ask about the luggage, what luggage size is recommended to bring to this kind of trip? I mean what do most people have with them, a big suitcase or just backpack?

    • Feel Free TravelOperatorWritten April 2025

For the private room upgrade you'll need to book it for the full trip, we don't have the option to offer it in chunks. When it comes to luggage you'll find some will bring a big suitcase and others a backpack... it very much boils down to personal preference but we just limit the big bag to 20kg and the small carryon to 7kg as there is an internal flight on this trip.

    • G

      Gillian

      TravelerWritten April 2025

And the internal flights are included in the package price? And one more thing I was wondering about: are most of the travelers in this trip from the UK? Or is it varied? According to statistics I mean

    • Feel Free TravelOperatorWritten April 2025

The internal flight from the South to Chiang Mai is included on Day 10 of the trip. With our company being from the UK we do see about 40-50% of our customers from the UK but I can see on the 3rd May trip that there are travellers from the UK, USA and Europe. Most are booked to travel solo also.

    • G

      Gillian

      TravelerWritten April 2025

And regarding gender balance, is it usually almost 50/50 in this regard? Just want to have an idea what to expect as a guy myself

    • Feel Free TravelOperatorWritten April 2025

Group trips do tend to be a little more popular with female travellers - I'd say it's usually around a 70/30 split. That said, on this trip there are definitely a few guys booked on already, and the vibe is always really sociable and easy-going, so you'll be in good company!
